Windy City Classic: Class of 2021 Standout Guards

The class of 2021 had a great weekend in Indianapolis at the Windy City Classic. I’ll review the guards that stood out to me throughout the weekend. Jayden Schuette 5’8 Liberty High School / Inferno Elite: A knockdown shooter Jayden was hitting shots, including the three, all weekend. She has good court vision and consistently finds the open player. Jayden is also a strong defender and her quickness and footwork allows her to be up in her opponent’s face constantly. Amaya Rufus 5’8 York High School / Illinois Rockets: Amaya is team first point guard. She has exceptional speed and can get north and south on the court crazy fast. She has quick feet on defense and causes trouble for whomever she is guarding. Sanaa Finner 5’8 Dekalb High School / Illinois Midwest Wildcats: Sanaa brings explosiveness to the court. She can get to the rim and isn’t afraid of contact. Addison Demichele 5’8 Aquin High School / Illinois Midwest Wildcats: Addison has a pretty jumper and can knock down the 3 ball on the regular. [player_tooltip player_id="123566" first="Lauren" last="Huber"] 5’7 Glenbard East High School / Illinois Rockets: A great athlete, Lauren brings a great jumper and terrific speed to the game. She can go coast to coast in the blink of an eye. Sam Campbell 5’11 Villa Grove High School / Illinois Aristocrats: Sam plays with heart. She gives her all every second she is on the court and brings good speed and quickness to the game. Talia Pelligrini 5’7 St. Charles North High School / Illinois Rockets: Talia has a solid jump shot and has a great ability to get to the rim. Bailey Wallbaum 5’7” 2021 PORTA High School / Illinois Inferno: Bailey shined on D. She closes on her defender hard and with great footwork. She will battle anyone she goes up against. Caylyn Kimmel 5’7 Dixon High School / Illinois Midwest Wildcats: A strong player with a college build, Caylyn is a solid player. She doesn’t force plays but lets the game come to her. She has a tight crossover and good fundamentals boxing out. Emma Holder 5’7 Aquin High School / Illinois Midwest Wildcats: Emma racked up the steals all weekend due to her great help side defense and quick hands. She can attack the rim with a good jump stop. Brooke Runge 5’9 Altamont High School / Illinois Aristocrats: A combo guard, Brooke can knock down the 3 but also score around the rim off her aggressive attacking.
