Brooklin Ingram | Charlotte Country Day
Ingram has effectively been able to take over as a leader for her team controlling the tempo of games by handling the ball. She can push the ball up the court or pull it back if she needs to wait for her teammates to set up a play. She has good vision of the court finding her open teammates, and she can score herself. She does a great job driving to the basket to score her points, and opponents need to make sure they stay close to her as she is a shooter from all over the court including behind the arc. On defense, look for her to create her own offense after grabbing steals to push the other direction. For these reasons and more, she received All State accolades this year.
Cassidy Geddes Cassidy Geddes 5'7" | CG Newton-Conover | 2023 State NC | Newton-Conover
Geddes was the South Fork 2A player of the year, and she deserves every bit of that accolade. She is an absolute scorer even shooting 6-for-8 from behind the three point line in a game against Pisgah High, and the best part is that game doesn’t seem to be an outlier by any means. She can get close to the basket to score through contact, and she uses a variety of fakes and ball handling moves to blow by her opponents. She is a good defender as well picking the pocket of her opponents to end their possessions.
Jordyn Latter Jordyn Latter 5'8" | SF Providence Day | 2023 State NC | Providence Day
Latter earned All Conference honors for her efforts this season and rightfully so. She is a dynamic player who can do a little bit of everything including using post moves to score close to the basket. It’s tough to guard her because she is always moving, and she can score on all three levels. She finds the gaps in the defense, and she shows off her basketball IQ with perfectly timed backdoor cuts. As an aggressive defender, she puts the pressure on her opponents grabbing steals that she can immediately take the other direction.
Hannah Sorrentino Hannah Sorrentino 5'2" | CG Metrolina Christian Academy | 2023 NC | Metrolina Christian Academy
Sorrentino is ready to compete any time that she gets on the court. She is a sharp shooter from behind the arc, and she isn’t scared to move around handling the ball to find an open area of the court. She has some speed on her allowing her to blow by her opponents to get to the basket, especially in transition. Her vision of the court helps her find open teammates whether they are ready to shoot from outside or they are posting up on the block. On defense, she grabs steals and immediately knows where to go with the ball whether she is able to get to the basket herself or pass it up the court to a teammate making a break.
Anastasia Sinclair Anastasia Sinclair 5'7" | CG South Mecklenburg | 2023 State NC | South Mecklenburg
Sinclair finished the season with All Conference honors. As a sophomore, she was the floor general for her high school team leading the plays and controlling the ball most of the time. She directed her teammates when it came to running plays, and she made sure she contributed points as well. She can score behind the arc, make some nice midrange jump shots, or drive all the way to the basket. She finds her open teammates for them to score, and it seems pretty ordinary for her to have as many steals as she does assists making her a threat on both ends of the court.
