Essynce Contreraz Essynce Contreraz 5'5" | CG Holy Family | 2024 State CO (2024), playing with the talented Colorado Hoopsters 16U team led by Coach Gabe Trujillo, took her skills to Louisville this week for the Run 4 Roses Classic and went off for 48 points in a 65-61 loss to Tennessee Elite 16U. Holy Family coach, Ron Rossi, has be excited to see Contreraz putting up numbers like this. She was unguardable, hitting 6 of 8 threes, 10 of 11 free throws, and adding 7 more baskets in the lane. I coached against her this summer and was impressed to see an incoming sophomore handle the ball so well. She’s capable of breaking most presses on her own and has proven she’s ready to help fill the voids left by Alyssa Wells Alyssa Wells 5'9" | SG Holy Family | 2021 State CO , Tyler Whitlock Tyler Whitlock 5'11" | SF Holy Family | 2021 State CO , Daniella Hren Daniella Hren 5'8" | SF Holy Family | 2021 State CO , Dylan Sanders Dylan Sanders 5'3" | PG Holy Family | 2021 State CO , and Cecilia Aanerud Cecilia Aanerud 6'1" | PF Holy Family | 2021 State CO in the Holy Family lineup.
The Hoopsters are more than a one-person show:
- The explosive 2022, 5’11” star from Mullen, Kilah Freelon Kilah Freelon 6'0" | PF Mullen | 2022 State CO , is a dominant athlete. Read about her here.
- Saya Sabus Saya Sabus 5'9" | CG Ralston Valley | 2022 State CO (5’8″, 2022) is showing she’s ready to take on the point guard duties at Ralston Valley.
- Evenyce Gutierrez Evenyce Gutierrez 5'4" | SG Mullen | 2022 State CO (5’3″, 2022) plays bigger than she is and will get her chance at Mullen this year.
- Amanda Byrnes Amanda Byrnes 6'1" | PF Brighton | 2023 State CO (6’1″, 2023) is someone I’ve been meaning to highlight. This talented power forward will be the Bulldogs’ number one option this year as they look to replace a lot of scoring. Byrnes missed the shortened 2021 season due to injury. This year you’ll see why she’s a top 10 player in her class.
- Alexei Trujillo Alexei Trujillo 5'3" | CG Westminster | 2023 State CO continues to impress. Read about her here.
