Anna Mathis (PSB Elite, 2023) fills the lanes and finds the openings on the court on fast breaks. She can certainly play the post position well using her body to seal off her opponents, and she doesn’t shy away from guarding the best ball handlers on her opponents’ teams. She crashes the boards looking for rebounds. She knows how to strip the ball from posts trying to make their moves against her.
Emma Phibbs (Lady Attack Elite, 2023) did well grabbing boards, and she showed off some post moves to score her points even off of second chance opportunities. She runs the floor well finding the open areas to score in transition. She did well showing off her talents playing against older competition over the weekend.
Jamyrah Cherry (Charlotte Lady Monarchs, 2023) had herself a game shooting well from behind the arc and driving the ball all the way to the hoop. She found the gaps on defense to show off her shot, or she got there herself handling the ball.
Antonia Hughes (Lady Strong, 2024) seems to slide into the right spots at just the right times. She goes after rebounds, and she knows exactly how to dish her teammates the ball. She showed off some nice jump shots getting herself open. She runs the floor well being ready for a pass off of a fast break or making a pass to her teammates for the bucket. Late in a close game, she had a clutch offensive rebound that she put back up for two points.
Sion Murrain (FBC Carolina Elite Mayo, 2024, pictured above) was patient when letting a play develop as she read the defense and made her move. The ball seemed to find her quite a bit on defense as she was grabbing steals to take the other direction. She did well sliding down to the block in the gaps to get her buckets and even fought for rebounds. She showed off her abilities on the court going up high to grab a defensive board and running with it all the way to the other end of the court using a nice Euro step to score her points.
