One athlete even committed before ever even playing a game as a freshman in high school! Take a look at what has been going on all over the state of Oklahoma with this awesome crop of 2025 players!
Olivia Watkins Olivia Watkins 6'1" | PF Norman North | 2025 State OK | 6-1 SG | Norman | @2025Watkins
Yet another Norman player that is ranked in the top-15, Watkins is also another very tall guard in the class of 2025. She recently took an unofficial visit to Arkansas and Coach Mike Neighbors who has been doing a great job of grabbing some of the best players that Oklahoma has to offer. He looks to be continuing that trend, because Olivia is going to be a big time college basketball player. She is still learning in some aspects of the game, but that is where her outstanding grassroots and high school coaching will help. She is tall and mobile. She plays inside and outside equally well. Olivia is a tough rebounder and as all of the parts of her game come together, she is going to be taking a lot more D-I visits.
Janiyah Williams Janiyah Williams 5'9" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2025 State OK | 5-8 CG | Stillwater | @janiyahwill_9
Almost as if highlighting the fact that our No. 5-ranked player may have been ranked too low, Janiyah has been out collecting an absolute haul of offers. There was a visit to OU the day that the rankings came out, then over the weekend the BIG TIME offers started rolling in. Nearly simultaneously offers from both West Virginia and Ohio State came in. Strictly offer-wise, this would put her in probably the top-3 in the class. It is clear that a lot of coaches from around the country are keeping an eye on Janiyah and like her well-rounded skill set as a scorer and defender. She plays the game the right way and is reaping the rewards. I can’t wait until this coming high school season to get out to Stillwater and see her ball in person!
Laynee Stanley Laynee Stanley 6'0" | PF Fort Gibson | 2025 State OK | 6-0 PF | Kansas, OK | @StanleyLaynee
Out in eastern Oklahoma is a tiny little town called Kansas. In that town is a not-so-tiny power forward who is going to be an Oklahoma State Cowgirl in four years. It is unprecedented to see a player commit as an incoming freshman, but like Laynee said, “when you know, you know.” What I know is that the reigning Big-12 Coach of the Year Jim Littell is getting a prototypical Cowgirl inside player in the Natasha Mack mold. She is a shot swatter, a shot changer and an absolute force down low. Our No. 7-ranked player in the class of 2025 is the first off the board in the class and deservedly so. Laynee is a hardworker, a great student and an all-around class act. Can’t wait to see her don the orange and black come 2025! Congrats!
