Best Performance of the Day
Taylor Barner Taylor Barner 5'7" | PG Panther Creek | 2024 State NC – FBC Queens 2023 – Panther Creek HS (Cary) (pictured on front)
Taylor was on FIRE all day long with her play. Barner scored 29 points while connecting on 8 three pointers. Taylor was so selective all day long with her shot selection and never looked to force anything along the way. She let it fly from all over the floor and simply was one of the best shooting performances I’ve seen this past year on any level. Taylor averaged 17.6 ppg this past season for the Lady Catamounts (22-6).
The Class of 2025
Kate Sears Kate Sears 5'9" | CG Watauga | 2025 State NC – FBC Queens 2023 – Watauga HS (Boone)
Sears is ranked #1 player in the 2025 Hoop State class. Kate plays up a few age groups and has no problems playing up. She is so confident and crafty with the ball in her hands and really has a no fear attitude. Sears is a crisp passer and while playing the game extremely unselfish from the backcourt. Kate really plays the passing lanes well and isn’t afraid to sacrifice her body on the floor for a loose ball. Sears averaged 18.4 ppg, 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.6 steals this past season as a freshman.
Christina Bowers Christina Bowers 5'8" | CG Western Alamance | 2025 State NC – FBC Carolina Elite Sykes 15U – Southern Alamance HS (Graham)
Bowers has a nice feel for the game and always seems to be around the ball. Christina averaged 11.6 ppg and 4.4 rebounds for the Lady Patriots this past season. She tends to be shot ready to receive the ball in the pocket with a quick release. Bowers is just one of the many talented players on this FBC Carolina Elite Sykes 15U team.
The Class of 2026
Asia Burton Asia Burton 5'8" | CG Franklinton | 2026 State NC – FBC Carolina Elite Sykes 15U – Clear Creek M.S (Youngsville)
Burton a left-handed sharpshooter plays the game well beyond her years on the floor. Asia indicated to Prep Girls Hoops she looks to be attending Franklinton HS next fall. She was able to score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor especially the mid-range and three-point line. Asia plays up an age group on the this very talented team.
Nykira Arrington Nykira Arrington 6'1" | C Hollbrook M.S. | 2026 NC – NC Gems 2026 – Hollbrook M.S. (Lowell)
Nykira is a left-handed post player who has a good set of hands to play around the basket. Arrington at times today struggled finishing around the basket at times but, that will come with time. She did a good job of staying active on both ends of the floor and was able step-out for some short corner jumpers.
Oshauna Holland Oshauna Holland 5'7" | PG Stuart Cramer | 2026 State NC – NC Gems 2026 – Hollbrook M.S. (Lowell)
O’Shauna is a craft point guard who can really change directions well with the ball in her hands. Holland was able to penetrate-kick to the basket or simply stop and knockdown the mid-range jumper today. She does a good job of pushing the tempo at times or settling down in the half-court offense.
