I want to highlight five players who significantly raised their profile as a prospect when the lights shined the brightest. The players listed are in no particular order.
Shae Kelley Shae Kelley 5'9" | PG Brookfield East | 2024 State WI -5’9 G-’24-Brookfield East
The defense Kelley played in Green Bay didn’t make any sense. The sophomore doesn’t look like she could guard tall and strong wings, but in Green Bay, she proved that not only could she do it, she could thrive defending players like E. LaChapell. Although there is room for growth on the offensive end, what Kelley does defensively is special, and I don’t use that word lightly. She’ll need to get stronger and improve her offensive game, but her defensive abilities are Division 1 level right now. I made a thread on Twitter with clips of her playing defense that I’ll link below.
Got up earlier than I usually do so I compiled some of the absurd things @ShaeKelley22 did defensively in Green Bay to share in a thread so everyone can appreciate it.

Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI -5’8 G-’25-Pewaukee
I always ask if young players could perform against elite competition. For Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI , that answer was an emphatic yes. The Reedsburg game was excellent, and she scored at will. However, I left impressed with what she was able to do against Notre Dame. Sure she didn’t score 31 points, and she didn’t shoot at a ridiculous level, but she was an awesome creator in that game. Terrian was secure with the ball and did an excellent job hitting her teammates in rhythm. Notre Dame is a team that brings intense pressure to the ball, and Terrian handled it well. Playing for the Wisconsin Lakers has prepared her for this moment, and she passed the test of playing a dominant Reedsburg team and an uber-talented Notre Dame team with flying colors.
Peyton Musial Peyton Musial 6'0" | SG Notre Dame | 2025 State WI -5’11 G/F-’25-Notre Dame
The Notre Dame freshman didn’t start a game this season, but her talent is undeniable. Musial is a 5-foot-11 do-it-all wing that brings a lot on both ends of the floor. Offensively she did a great job of attacking recovering defenses. More often than not, her pump fake draws enough of a bite from her nearest defender. When Musial does get bites at her pump fake, she’s able to attack the paint and get into her advanced floater game. It helps that she was a 56% 3-point shooter, on limited attempts, heading into state, and shot two for three from behind the arc at the Resch Center. Defensively, Musial covers a lot of ground. When she comes off the bench fresh, the Triton brings energy and pressure that most opposing guards can’t handle. Expect to hear a lot more about her over the next three years.
Tierney Madigan Tierney Madigan 5'10" | SG Laconia | 2025 State WI -5’10 G/F-’25-Laconia
Laconia was my favorite team to watch in Green Bay, and Madigan was a big reason why. In both Spartan games, Madigan was excellent on both ends. She had a tough time with senior Ella Chambers against Mineral Point to start the game, but she eventually figured out what she needed to do to slow her down. Other than that, Madigan was everywhere. The lefty showed that she could shoot 3’s and attack the rim effectively against a tall team in Mineral Point. Defensively, she displayed that she could defend guards at a high level. Madigan has the discipline to play within a zone and aggression to guard straight-up. I’m very excited to see what Madigan, Aubrey Leonard Aubrey Leonard 5'8" | PG Laconia | 2025 State WI , Payton Morgan, and Callista VandeBerg can accomplish over the next few seasons.
Braelyn Torres Braelyn Torres 5'7" | CG Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI -5’8 G-’23-Kettle Moraine
Torres excelled in both Kettle Moraine’s semifinal and title game, but she did it in different ways. In the semifinal against De Pere, she showed off her improved offensive game, scoring 15 points. However, Torres did a lot more than just score. The Laser also grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists. She chipped in everywhere. In the state title game against Appleton East, she was elite on the defensive end. Torres held a future Division 1 guard to ZERO points and forced her to miss all nine of her shots. Torres also earned five steals in that game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Division 1 schools started taking a serious look at Torres over the summer.
