The SCBCA Summer Showcase was a great success this past week down in North Charleston. Prep Girls Hoops was in attendance for the event to cover the girls from the Palmetto State. Who were some 2023 Top Performers from the Showcase? Read more right here in this article. #RecruitThePalmettoState [player_tooltip player_id="171787" first="Trinity" last="Delaney"] - AC Flora HS Delaney looks to finally be back from the injury bug. Trinity is slowly coming along for the Lady Falcons. Delaney can post up with her back to the basket and drop a turnaround jumper from time to time. Delaney is teammates with Burns on the Grassroots Circuit with SC Future. [player_tooltip player_id="235090" first="Nadia" last="Burns"] - Legion Collegiate (Rock Hill) Burns is bit of a mismatch at times with her play down low for the Lady Lancers. Nadia is a deceptive athlete with good footwork. She tends to do her best work down on the floor and staying active on the glass. Burns is a double-double every night for Head Coach Kevin King. Nadia runs with SC Future on the Grassroots Circuit. [player_tooltip player_id="273201" first="Zhaire" last="Mack"] - Philip Simmons HS (pictured on front) Mack has claimed a few offers this spring from college programs. Zhaire is a very vocal player on the floor and while on the bench. She seems to be at best when attacking the basket and playing on defense. Mack is a relentless defender at times and bit of a pest with her play. Zhaire runs with A’ja Wilson Elite 2023 on the Grassroots Circuit. [player_tooltip player_id="197358" first="Kennedy" last="Rivers"] - Philip Simmons HS Rivers and Mack complement each other nicely on the hardwood. Kennedy is an undersized guard with a nice shooting stroke. Rivers will play some swag and confidence. She shows to have nice body control going to the basket. Rivers runs with TMP on the Grassroots Circuit. [player_tooltip player_id="241664" first="Jadein" last="Haynes"] - Stall HS (North Charleston) Haynes and Cook are teammates on the Grassroots Circuit. Jadein has started to figure out how to be effective all over the floor at times. Haynes does a good job of rebounding the ball and bringing it up the floor at times. She has good versatility to effective in whatever situation or position she’s in the on the floor. Haynes is the leader on this Lady Warriors team for Head Coach Donta Brown this season. Can the Lady Warriors make a move in the Lower State this season? [player_tooltip player_id="299566" first="Yasmine" last="Cook"] - Stratford HS (Goose Creek) Cook has continued to play well since the Charleston Southern Team Camp. Yasmine plays every play like it’s her last one. SHE TAKES NO PLAYS OFF. Yasmine will slash to the cup, rebound out of her area, bring the ball up the floor in transition and defend anyone on the floor at times. Cook will run with Lowcountry Premier on the Grassroots Circuit this summer. [player_tooltip player_id="452376" first="Whitney" last="Winstead"] - Walhalla HS Winstead plays up in the very northwestern corner of the state for the Razorbacks. Whitney moves well around the paint and moving from block to block. Winstead is a volleyball player in the fall for the Razorbacks. [player_tooltip player_id="124105" first="Jessica" last="Woods"] - Westwood HS Jessica is off the board and headed to Campbell University after her high school career is over. Woods is a shifty guard who can get to the cup and sometimes make defenders look silly with her ball-handling. Jessica can stop on a dime and pop a nice mid-range jumper or pull-up in transition at will. [player_tooltip player_id="198126" first="Korletta" last="Daniels"] - Westwood HS Daniels picked up an offer just like teammate [player_tooltip player_id="185432" first="Raven" last="Johnson"] to hometown Allen University (SC). She likes to play the game on the attack at times and slash to the basket. Korletta seems to be in transition and out in the open court with her play. Daniels likes to and will stalk the baseline when given the chance. [player_tooltip player_id="185432" first="Raven" last="Johnson"] - Westwood HS Johnson recently picked up an offer from Allen University (SC). Raven is starting to come around with her play on the floor. She patrols the middle for the Redhawks and does a good job of running the floor. Johnson fills the lane in transition and stays active on both ends of the floor. Johnson will join Delaney, Daniels and Burns on the Grassroots Circuit with SC Future this summer. It’s time to #RecruitThePalmettoState
