I have already mentioned players from this Division in the Top Performers stories from the event yet I wanted to spotlight even more who caught my eye, so here you go, providing I had rosters for the squads
Jordan Faulkner-5’9 G/SF (Lincoln Christian) Oklahoma Utmost Basketball 2024 [2023]
Faulkner was impressive on both ends however her battling for rebounds against taller players certainly stood out. She’s strong and goes hard, that applies to the way she plays defense as she guarded taller players in the paint as well as showed some tough “on the ball” defense outside of it. She also attacked and finished, yes after contact
Lillie Woodworth-G (COH Elite Keller 2024)
Woodworth showed a variety of offensive skills, she scored off the dribble, and she created her shot to drop the mid to long-range jumper, with a hand in her face but she also did a good job handling the ball under pressure. When you factor in her “court vision” that gave her options galore and the defender some to think about yet on the flip, she did a good job defending and that included playing the passing lane
Aryahana Whitestone-6’0 F ( 3T Training 2024)
Whitestone immediately grabbed my attention from afar as I watched her playing the passing lane over and over. As I moved to her court, she showed she could handle the ball and either score off the dribble as well as dish the ball to her teammates, and at her size, seeing the floor is a big plus. She also rebounded on both ends and went after the ball well but she also dove on the floor for loose balls
Lacy Brough-5’2 PG (Commerce) Missouri Legacy 2024
Brough falls into that #sizedontmatter I love to hashtag because she can play and I started to save her for the SHOOTERS story I’m dropping but watching her create her shot and handle the ball, both under pressure, I decided to place her on this list. She saw the floor and hit her teammates with the extra zip in traffic plus she understands how to control the tempo
Hiahni Howard-5’11 PF (Stigler) EYG 2024
Howard was a major force around the basket on opening day, she scored around the basket nicely showing some solid “hands and footwork” but she also scored on putbacks, yes she rebounded on both ends. She understands how to use her body for positioning, she also showed she could drop the midrange jumper. She played in pain on day 2 and was still effective
Jacqueline Hall-5’9 G (Pittsburg) Missouri Legacy
Hall is heady and plays within herself, that in itself always grabs my attention and she understands something very important, how to get hers in the flow. She used a deceptive first step to get the defender to lean and attack the basket, she finished strongly after contact and she did a good job seeing the floor
Madyson Vann-6’0 PF ( Berkner) Oklahoma Utmost Basketball 2024
Vann was along for the ride and what a ride she gave on the court. First of all, her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots was impressive, and so was her interior defense but she rebounded strongly, on both the offensive and defensive end, she ran the floor, on both ends, and showed she could score around the basket
Mimi McGaughy-5’5 CG (Drip Nation 2024)
McGaughy is a long and athletic guard and that factored into her playing the passing lane so well because she also has speed, including SWB, speed with the ball, so after the steal, she was hard to handle in the open court and finished not only after contact but using solid body control. She also showed an explosive first step in the set to blow by defenders, plus she saw the floor
Ava Dawes-5’11 PF (Liberty School) Colorado Springs Crusaders 2024
Dawes used her body well around the basket to score but she also showed she could attack from the wing and finish. She then showed the midrange jumper, while being defended but her ability to create her shot to get it off was nice. She also did a good job rebounding on both ends of the court as well as defending
Landry Bayless-5’8 G ( 3T Training 2024) [2025]
Bayless created her shot numerous times under pressure and showed she could drop it but she also showed the “stop and pop” jumper in transition. Add her scoring off the dribble, attacking using either hand, and she also showed the could see the floor and make the right passes at the right time
