Morgan Mann Morgan Mann 5'7" | SG Humboldt | 2025 State IA
The Humboldt wing can flat-out score the ball. In her freshman season, Mann led all 2025s in 4A in scoring, and it’s easy to see why that happened. She’s decisive in her movement and has explosiveness when she attacks the basket. Her ability to accelerate is elite, and her first step is excellent. To add insult to injury for her defenders, she’s also an above-average shooter. Mann made 38.8% of her 3s as a freshman, so defenders have to pick their poison. Let her shoot a 3, or take away her air space and risk Mann turning the corner and getting to the basket.
Stokes is a high-level athlete and can do damage in transition. When she gets a head of steam, there aren’t many kids who can stay in front of the Estherville Lincoln Center guard. Stokes may not be the biggest kid on the floor at 5-foot-5. Regardless, she finishes at the rim as well as anyone. She creates many transition opportunities at the 3A level by jumping passing lanes.
Sadie Cox
The scoring leader for 2025s in 1A plays with a lot of control. She doesn’t get sped up and plays off two feet around the basket. It also helps that she pulled down over 15 rebounds per game last season, with 181 of her 358 rebounds coming on the offensive end. She makes life easy on herself by playing hard and getting rewarded for her effort. The more I watched her game, the more highly I thought of her. I love kids who play the game incredibly hard. In her case, she creates extra possessions and converts those opportunities more times than not.
The Dowling Catholic guard has a unique-looking jumper. When she gets going, she can make shots in bunches. Her court awareness is high, and you can see it when she meanders into open pockets of space behind the 3-point line. Coming into a Dowling Catholic team that has been historically competitive and being allowed to take over a quarter of the team’s 3s says a lot about how her coaches and teammates feel about her game. Zediker needs to get a little more consistent over the next few years, but she is talented.
