Continue ReadingWhen mentioning women’s high school basketball in Iowa over the past few seasons, a name you have consistently seen pop up is Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6’3″ | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA . Audi is entering her senior season looking to repeat as a state champion after an incredible 21′-22′ run with Bishop Garrigan High School. Scoring 659 points in only 28 games; grabbing 349 rebounds; and racking up 92 blocks, it comes to no surprise that the Iowa State commit will be a dominate force down low. When you add this along with the returning of 2 other major players for Bishop Garrigan there is a very good chance that the Golden Bears will repeat as conferences champions with a shot at another state championship. I am very curious to see if Audi can have an even better stat line for her senior season after putting up, debatably the best overall stats done in one season, by one player, last year as a junior.
Sadie Cox
Sadie Cox
Sadie Cox returns to the Lenox Tigers as the #1 rebounder in the state last season in 1A with 358. Pairing this along with 17.1 PPG on 43.8% shooting. After starting the season 7-0, the Tigers ended with a 16-4 overall record for the 21′-22′ season and losing in state regional play. I don’t see that being the case this season though. With the progression of Sadie being a key play maker and force, along with other key freshman, such as Zoey Reed, who averaged 11.1 PPG while being 33.3% from the three point line last year, Lenox will have a very solid foundation to make a big state run once the playoffs start. It will not be easy though with 2 other teams in their conference last season each recording over 20 wins. I’ll be intrigued to see this Tigers team put it together for the 22′-23′ season and see how far they can really go with their young core.
Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5’7″ | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA looks to return as the floor general for Bishop Garrigan High School and help Audi Crooks Audi Crooks 6’3″ | C Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State #42 Nation IA to win back to back state championships at the 1A varsity level. Ranking #1 in assists in 1A with 137 last season and also scoring 518 points, the duo of Joyce and Crooks will be no joke once they take the floor this upcoming year making it a nightmare for defenses to plan against with a solid post game and a great perimeter leader in Joyce. The Truman State Bulldog commit who consistently shows off her vision, great IQ, and ability to put the ball in the hoop had a great AAU summer for CY Select and can’t wait to show everyone that no matter where she is playing, she is a difference maker. It is very rare to see two big college commits playing on the same high school floor and should be exciting to watch no matter who they play.

Ellah Kissell
Ellah Kissell
Ellah Kissell, who averaged 18 PPG, 6.4 RPG, and 2.3 APG looks to come back for her senior season and lead the Waco Warriors to a conference championship after going 5-11 in the 21′-22′ season in conference and 10-13 overall. The 5’10 power forward has a solid game 15 feet in, along with being able to stretch the floor and play the perimeter, making it a match up problem for anyone guarding her. After grabbing 78 steals on top of her solid stat line last season, Ellah will be the vocal and emotional foundation of this Warrior team, looking to shock the world and make a big run once the 22′-23′ playoffs start.
