I love the versatility of these players as they have shown the ability to adapt to whatever was needed to help their teams and here’s why
Amayah Garcia Amayah Garcia 5'11" | CG Desoto | 2026 State TX -5’11 (Team Lex) Desoto
Garcia falls into that 1,2 and 3 yet her 4-point play JUST DID IT for me during the viewing period. She has taken her game from being an inside threat, she understands positioning, as well as using her body around the basket, to a legitimate outside threat. Some of that can be attributed to a slight growth spurt as well as adding even more strength yet I was overly impressed with her jumper, she is creating it with ease and it’s taken off, as she was dropping the long ball with a hand in her face. She sees the floor, rebounds, and defends
Jordan Pete Jordan Pete 5'6" | CG Sotomayor | 2026 State TX – 5’6 (SA Finest) Sotomayor
Pete has had “for Peete’s sake” written about her for years until I recently realized I was spelling her name incorrectly. Nevertheless, I have had her game right for, well ever, and I speak about things I love seeing in the younger players that let me know what’s coming, and one more time, it’s how they react in certain situations as well as how do they do things instinctively. Her clutch shooting at a young age only added to what I figured would happen and fast forward to now, that poise under pressure certainly stands out as she can see the floor as well as score mid to long
Simone Richmond Simone Richmond 5'7" | CG Allen | 2026 State TX – 5’7 (Texas U)
Richmond and her “smoothness on the court” have always been fun to see. She thinks the game, plays within herself, and has shown she can get hers in the flow over the years. She also has added even more to her handling the ball as she’s equally effective with both hands however watching her set the defender up to attack the basket is probably one of her biggest jumps. Yeah, she can hit the jumper in transition as well as the set but she can also take over a game with the blink of an eye. Her court vision is also a huge hit as she can hit teammates in traffic going full speed
Kennedy Simpson Kennedy Simpson 5'6" | CG Summer Creek | 2026 State TX -5’6 (Houston Lady Nets) Summer Creek
Simpson showed me off the top she could absolutely go. I had heard about her from several sources but I HAVE TO SEE for myself and that her initial showing, JUST DID IT, for me. First of all, she was playing up, on the PGH Circuit, so that enabled me to watch her go against not only older players but players heading to the next level, which falls under the “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” category. Her jumper is ahead of her years, she elevates over the defender and drops it from mid to long-range. She also has good body control to finish acrobatically, many times after contact yet she was in situations where she had to run the 1 and showed she could not only control the tempo but completely run a team
