Players participated in a ball-handling warm-up and skills stations focused on attacking the basket and shooting. Players were also separated according to their position and skills level and competed in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 tournaments. Players competed until there were one player or last team standing. It was good to see players work and the players listed below caught my eye and stood out in the Class of 2028.
Kashlynn Cooper | G / 5-7 | Heritage Hall | 2028
Kashlynn is a guard I noticed right away at the showcase. She has a quiet confidence about herself but, when it’s time to work, she is focused, locked-in and gets after it. She uses the hesitation dribble to keep her defenders guessing, off balance, and on their heels. When she gets her defender in a vulnerable position, she explodes to the basket and finds a way to score even in traffic. She shoots the ball well and makes good reads in the triple threat. When driving she knows how to create space for her shot and can finds open teammates. She is a talented player that will continue to grow and has the potential to be a top player in Oklahoma in her class.
Mika Davis | G / 5-6 | Union MS | 2028
Mika is a smooth guard that can shoot the ball. She is a player that has the potential to effortlessly get paint touches and easy buckets off the dribble. She has range from deep and can hit big-time shots for her team. She is a passionate player that will put in work defensively which includes ball pressure, playing the passing lanes, and rotating with the ball. She displays natural athletic ability and if she continues to work on her game, she will become a top player in her class.
Brooklyn Market | F / 6-0 | Bixby MS | 2028
Brooke is a long forward with the potential to dominate and become a great contributor on any team. Her length gives her a huge advantage towering over most players and with her outstanding wing-span, she can rebound, block shots and make opponents think twice when in the paint. Brooke is a really good passer in the low post and high post and finds open teammates when doubled. If Brooke is left in a one-on-one scenario at the post, her length allows her to dominate and score easily. I would like to see Brooke be more assertive and recognize her advantage and as she continues to work on her game, she will build her confidence.
Jordyn Payne | G / 5-5 | Jenks MS | 2028
Jordyn is an athletic guard that has a lot of potential. She stands out when rebounding because she jumps so high and its pretty impressive. Her go to move when the ball is in her hands is the step-back jumper, and it looks good when the ball leaves her hands. I think that if she continues to develop her game, she could become a high-level player with a promising future in basketball.
Azariah Woodruff | G / 5-5 | Lincoln Christian | 2028
Azariah is a skilled guard with potential to be a dynamic player. When she is locked in mentally, Azariah operates at the top of her game and competes at a high level. At the showcase she was in a flow of making smart reads with the ball in her hands. At the guard position, she pushed the ball in transition and either kicked the ball ahead and attack the basket. In the half court, she controlled the pace and was patient coming off of screens and making the correct reads. I was impressed with how she was able to pull-up in the mid-range when running defenders off the screens. Her shot really stood out in the 4 on 4 games. She is a player I plan on keeping an close eye on this upcoming season.
Jada Davis Jada Davis 5'11" | CG Union Tulsa | 2028 OK | G / 5-5 | Union MS | 2028
Jada is an analytical player that uses her cerebral powers to play the game of basketball. She has a high-IQ and makes good decisions with the ball. She controls the pace of the game surveying the court for the highest possible opportunity for success. She can drive to the basket in traffic and finish at the basket off two feet or off one foot. She can shoot the ball from deep and has a smooth looking form with good mechanics. She isn’t afraid to shoot the big shot and has shown that she is capable of making big shots down the stretch in games. As she continues to grow in her game, I believe that she will also be in the conversation as a top player in class of 2028 in Oklahoma.
