This is a special class and I would be selling myself short along with everyone else by not recognizing more players. This top 10 list has 5 of the top 25 ranked players by ESPN W, along with many players that could easily be recognized at the national level. The 2025 class in Oklahoma is special and is arguably one of the highest ranked classes in the nation. Though positions may indeed change throughout the season – the players listed below kick off my rankings and is Part 2 of my Top 10 in the class of 2025.
McKenzie is a strong guard with size that plays with a chip on her shoulders. She has a lot of skills in her tool belt and has a solid perimeter game as well as inside post game. She controls the pace and loves to attack the gaps off the dribble and uses her body well when finishing. McKenzie is at her best when she allows the game to come to her – plays with confidence and it looks effortless. She is a gym rat that continues to work on her game and isn’t afraid to apply what she practices. She is a special player and as she grows it will be interesting to see the increase of her level of play. McKenzie is one of those players that could easily be recognized nationally and at the rate she is going, she will get the respect she deserves. She holds tons of offers to top college programs and when it is all said and done, I know she will find the right fit. I look for this year to be her breakout year with Broken Arrow High School and I anticipate the AAU season with Oklahoma Swift to be just as impactful on her basketball career.
Brandie has a presence about her that as a coach, you can put your confidence in. She is a high-IQ basketball player that is cool calm and collected under pressure. She has the size and ability to be a physical force in the game but she allows the game to come to her and she is a team first type of player. She is smooth off the dribble and can light it up on the perimeter, and is dangerous for the opposition when attacking the lane. One of Brandie’s super powers is her passing ability. She makes passes right on target and right on time to put her teammates in good positions to score. She is a high value player because she does so many things great. This year I hope to see Brandie exert herself and explore how dominant she can be in her sophomore year at Millwood High School.
Highlights
Avery is a lengthy shooting guard that I would consider to be one of the best shooters in the state in any class. She is a ready shooter with range and can shoot it off the catch as well as off the dribble with no hesitation from deep. Her shooting mechanics are where you would expect them to be, good rotation on the ball, elbow in a 90 degree angle off the release and holds her follow through. She can quickly change the dynamic of a game with her shooting ability and if you let her heat up, she will burn the house down. She is a player that is actively working on expanding her game by developing an all-around game and is doing a very good job by staying in the gym. Along with her length she is athletic and can grab the rim. Her presence makes a big difference on the defensive end by using her length to get steals, rebounds and blocks. Avery is a player I enjoy watching because she works hard and is a game changer for Edmond Memorial High School.
Highlights
Kayten is a long Forward that can shoot the ball and attack the basket effectively. At the forward position, Kayten works hard and has good footwork inside the paint. Defensively she is a presence because she is consistently in the right spots, and ready to make something happen when presented with the opportunity to stop the opposing team. She is long but has quick enough feet to stay in front of guards, plays the passing lane, and can get deflections. She has a high basketball IQ and makes good basketball plays, including using her length to make passes over the defense to teammates within the flow of the offense. When she attacks the basket she finishes well and makes her free throws when fouled. She is an under-rated player with loads of potential and if she continues to work on her game will be a fine basketball player at the next level.
Skylar is a point guard with size that plays with her head up and is ready to distribute the ball. She has good lateral quickness and it shows on both ends of the floor. She attacks the gaps with pace and finishes at the rim. She uses her strength and size to keep defenders on their heels but is superb at creating space off the dribble and also elevating for the midrange jumper. This year at Classen SAS High School I look for Skylar to make a big impact on the court and continue to develop as a player.
