Lower is a 5’11 guard who has a superb shooting stoke from long range on the offensive end accompanied with good length to help her be successful on the defensive end. With her speed, size, shooting ability, and smart head on her shoulders she will definitely be a player to keep an eye on as this season goes forward. She plays on a team with a lot of solid pieces that could make a big state run once playoffs start if somethings fall their way. Having a shooter like Lower who can also put it on the floor and score near the rim, mixed with her teammates, make this squad a dangerous one moving forward.

Cora Widel snuck into this Watch List update as maybe one of the best players in her class at the “combo” forward position. Widel is a long and diverse athlete that can score in bunches when the floor is spread out and she has space. She has a good handle of the ball with a great finishing ability near the hoop. You can tell just by watching her that she a great feel for where and when to put the ball up while attacking the hoop to score over her defender. She has a balanced shot while shooting a jumper from three point range but will need to get more comfortable with it in the mid-range area’s of the floor over time. Once she gets everything down a little more fluently, she will be a big problem for defenses as there aren’t many in the state who can stay with her size and quickness when she starts to heat up on the offensive end.

Kennedy Goodheart joins up with Iowa City-Liberty high school for her freshman year as she looks to make an impact on and off the floor in her community. Goodheart is one of a select few players who was moved up to varsity to start this season because of her selfless play and consistency she showed throughout the summer leading into this year. She is a dynamic wing who can really score at a high rate. She has a good jump shot but doesn’t like to settle for it. She can handle the ball from any position while also being a good passer when she see’s an open teammate, wether it be in their set offense or in transition. I’m curious as to how much time she will see on the floor this season for her Lighting team as they have returned a good amount of varsity players from a year ago who can really compete. Either way she is definitely a player to keep an eye on as the playoffs approach with the ceiling she possesses to come in and make an instant impact at any point this season.

Nakia Ollivierre Nakia Ollivierre 5’9″ | PG Waterloo West | 2026 IA comes into the “stock risers” category of the 2026 class purely on her athleticism and the high ceiling she possesses. Ollivierre, who is already making a big impact in her AGWSR high school program, is a point guard to keep an eye on as time moves forward. She is a solid overall player who can come in and help change the rhythm of a game or offense with a flip of a switch. She has a good handle with the ball and great skill moves around the rim to get an open look, such as a nice spin move going either way, an up-and-under, and a nice power dribble into a strong take through contact. A little challenge I foresee in the future is the amount of productivity she will need to accomplish to be recognized by more eyes nationally, as her competition level shouldn’t be up to her “standards” and should inspire her to have some really outstanding games this season in conference. In the end of it all I think Nakia will get a lot of college interest once things are said and done. It’s not every day that you can get a talent and skill set mixed with the athleticism you see in Nakia at the high school level.
