Prep Girls Hoops has been extremely this past month with coverage from all over the Palmetto State. Let's take a look at some action from around the Grand Strand that we able to witness this past week.

Carolina Forest HS 41 Sumter HS 36

The Carolina Forest HS Lady Panthers came up with a big home victory over the visiting Lady Gamecocks in this one. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='562068' first='Emerie' last='Davis'] came to play in this game. Davis finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds according to out unofficial stats. Emerie was able to move from block to block and remain active all day long. She connected on a few short corner jumpers and even at times showed to bring the ball up the floor coast to coast. Emerie has very nimble footwork and sure didn't play like a freshman here tonight vs Sumter.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='331895' first='Maris' last='Kate Payseur'] made the move over to the Forest this past off season from nearby Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. Payseur was able to knockdown some shots from behind the 3-point line tonight when she got her feet set. She finished with 9 points all on 3-pointers.

Freshman post player [player_tooltip player_id='496268' first='Miracle' last='Mclean'] came up big down the stretch. McLean got saddled into foul trouble at times tonight. Miracle a long and agile post player scored just 3 points while grabbing 7 rebounds tonight. She scored a bucket with 52.5 seconds left to give the Panthers the lead tonight at 37-35 this evening. McLean runs the floor the great and has the ability to alter and challenge shots on the defensive end. She brings a lot of positive energy to the floor at all times. Miracle does a good job of keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='268527' first='Madison' last='Hoffman'] scored 9 points, but they came up at the best time for the Lady Panthers. She nailed 2 free throws with 5.9 seconds left to secure the lead at 39-36 for Carolina Forest HS. Hoffman played on the ball and off the ball this evening. She made some timely passes to her teammates at times tonight.

Croskey Still Out:

[player_tooltip player_id='171802' first='Kiara' last='Croskey'] has yet to play for the Sumter HS Lady Gamecocks this season. Croskey was on the bench this evening cheering on her teammates. Croskey got hurt back in the spring on the Grassroots Circuit and hasn't played since. Kiara is regarded as one of the Top 10 players in the 2024 Palmetto State and currently has 1,176 career points.

Balance Scoring:

The Lady Gamecocks got balance scoring tonight from [player_tooltip player_id='190150' first='Rickell' last='Brown'] 12 points, [player_tooltip player_id='383713' first='Shamira' last='Andrews'] with 11 points, Dalashia Brunson 7 points and [player_tooltip player_id='195517' first='Keziyah' last='Sanders'] 6 points. [player_tooltip player_id='553681' first='A'raina' last='Ross'] is just a 7th grader who gets a lot of playing time for her age already. Ross struggled with some foul troubles tonight. Brown picked up her play in the second half after she nailed down some pull-up jumpers in transition and connected on a few floaters in the lane.

Andrews is a very good athlete who plays inside the paint. Shamira was able to grab 7 rebounds tonight and showed good activity at all times on the court. Sanders is always around the ball and looking to gamble to pick-up a steal going the other way. She brings a feisty attitude and peskiness to the floor. Keziyah really competes at all times.

Ashley Ridge 45 Conway HS 10

The Lady Swamp Foxes led this one from start to finish and cruised to a 35-6 halftime lead. Ashley Ridge HS got double digit points from [player_tooltip player_id='199693' first='Dianna' last='Blake'] in the paint. Blake a junior post player scored 10 points. Blake a multi-sport athlete was able to finish around the basket and on contact. She does a nice job of rebounding the ball out of her area and she understands her production is coming from inside the paint area.

[player_tooltip player_id='324266' first='Tonya' last='Edmonson'] was productive today with her outside shooting. She connected on 3 long shots from behind the line for her 9 points in limited action. [player_tooltip player_id='175390' first='Nadia' last='President'] looks to run the show while [player_tooltip player_id='365187' first='Coral' last='Curry'] provides another player in the paint for the Lady Swamp Foxes and Head Coach Jimmy Brown. President scored just 4 points tonight in limited action.

Ashley Ridge HS moves to (12-6) on the season.
