Division II Final Four Dream Team
In this article:
I had a chance to watch Goodrich, Frankenmuth, Lansing Catholic, and West Catholic battle it out in the State Semi-Finals. The level of play was crazy high. There were gutsy performances and clutch shots galore. I would highly encourage anyone that loves basketball to make it to Breslin for these games- you will get more than your money’s worth. Below are the five kids that I thought more than represented their town, their school, and the sport with skill and toughness.
She is undoubtedly the MVP of the Division II semis. The kid hit three monster threes at huge moments. It looked like Lansing Catholic was going to be run out of the gym and was down double digits after the first and down one to start the Fourth Quarter. Instead, Anna went 12 for 13 from the line in line to 28 points. The game ended up being a double digit win. Her work in beating pressure was also admirable.

While Reese isn’t the most heralded player on West Catholic, she did her best to keep them in the game. The Lansing Catholic 1-3-1 stymied the West Catholic offense, but Reese banged in multiple three pointers from a variety of spots on the floor. Her rebounding and work in the passing lanes kept the a West Catholic lead for the majority of the game. She left everything on the floor.
While Frankenmuth has some big names that grab attention, the Muth rode Clare to a semi-final win. She was a difference as the defense swarmed teammate Lexi Boike. She scored from every where on the floor and in about every way to push her team over the edge in a defensive struggle that went to the end. Her 15 points led all scorers and her work in transition was masterful.

Goodrich had a sneaky good season and was overshadowed by Metro powerhouse Lake Fenton; still, I got a chance to watch the Martians play a couple of times this year and can tell you that they are legit. Kosmowski was a huge part of their success. Her 14 points paced Goodrich, but it was the timely buckets that kept her team in every time Frankenmuth started to pull away. She had a sweet layup over a great shot blocker, hit threes, scored in the post and played lock down defense. She is a super talented under the radar talent.
Leah Richards Leah Richards 6’0″ | PF Lansing Catholic | 2024 State MI was another huge reason for LCC’s tournament run. She was huge on the boards and provided 14 points. She was a menace in the post and has the ability to take her girl outside for drives and three point shots. Her post defense made it so that the 1-3-1 was a killer and completely took West Catholic out of the game.
