Libby Fandel Libby Fandel 5’11” | SF Cedar Rapids Xavier | 2025 State IA comes into this players rankings update at the #5 spot following a fanatics sophomore season she just put together for her Xavier Saints team. Fandel, a long and athletic combo guard, really jumps off of the page when you talk about her size, IQ, and ability. She has great length, is a super smart player in big moments, and has ability that is off the charts for an individual of this age. This past season Fandel helped her Xavier team make it to state once again, following their championship during the 21-22′ season. She was all over the floor, played a plethora of positions, and was consistent all season long. After falling just short of the championship in this years state tournament, Fandel has already been in the gym working and getting ready for her upcoming AAU season with All Iowa Attack EYBL out of Des Moines. A program that is going to give Fandel the platform to show off her skill and talent on a whole new level. I’m excited to see what type of spring/summer she puts together and the offers she pulls in. Prior to this high school season she was getting a lot of looks/offers from some mid-majors around the country, something promising moving froward.
#4. Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5'10" | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA – Dowling Catholic High School
Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5’10” | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA comes in as the top rated point guard in the 2025 class and for good reason. The savvy point guard is a game changer and simply a difference maker when she is on the floor. She is the definition of a floor general and a coach on the floor at all times. She possesses decent size and length for her position along with a quick first step. On offensive she can create a lot of good looks for herself and others with how well she can handle the ball and pass it. She has a nice jump shot that she is not afraid to pull at any moment, especially from behind the arc. With that being said, it’s important to mention that she has this shooting ability but doesn’t settle, she takes good shots at the right moments for the most part from what I’ve witnessed this past few years. On the defensive side of things she isn’t a liability either, she does a efficient job of applying pressure with some quick hands and fast feet. Whatever college picks up this one is getting a player who can really change a lot of things for a program in a positive way while leading from the front, a task not all players can handle.
#3. Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6'0" | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA – Davenport North High School
Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6’0″ | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA from Davenport North high school comes into this update at the #3 spot after having a solid year for her Wildcats group while helping lead them to a state appearance. Bourrage is a wonder. An athlete with good fundamentals, a good head on her shoulders, and an overall play-maker for whatever team she is on. She has a good foundation with some really good balance while attacking the hoop or shooting a jump shot. She doesn’t settle for jumpers and does a really good job of finishing through contact near the basket. Bourrage is going to be another big part of that All Iowa Attack EYBL team moving forward and I expect this to really help give her confidence coming back into her high school season next year. With the work she will be putting in during the offseason moving forward and her ceiling, it’s not crazy to think that she could be a player lobbying for that #1 spot in her 2025 class by the end of her high school career.
#2. Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6'2" | C Johnston | 2025 State IA – Des Moines North High School
Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6’2″ | C Johnston | 2025 State IA and the Des Moines North Polars Bears put together a nice season this past year, making it to their regional championship and coming up just short. Behind Jenkins and senior Elizabeth Puot Elizabeth Puot 6’0″ | SF Des Moines North | 2023 State IA , the Polar Bears were 18-4 overall on the season. Jenkins is a big and athletic center. She is dominate by her pure size but has a lot of skill to go along with that. She is a post presence with with good footwork, coordinated hands, and a soft touch near the rim. She plays with a physical chip on her shoulder and lets everyone know it. She has been doing great this season at creating contact and finishing throughout it, getting herself to the line a good amount. When looking at future ceilings her’s is high. She has size, strength, skill, and smarts. The 4 S’s that a college coach wants to have in any player they are looking to bring aboard their program. I’m expecting a big AAU showing from her for Kingdom Hoops AAU this spring/summer, something that will sky-rocket her interest even more-so, if that’s at all possible at the moment.
Highlights
1. Journey Houston Journey Houston 5'11" | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA – Davenport North High School
Journey Houston Journey Houston 5’11” | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA ‘s versatility and game-style mixed with her athleticism and IQ is what lands her in the top spot of the 2025 class in this players rankings update. Houston, a 5’11 combo guard, can really do it all. She can score, pass, defend, and rebound. Her scoring ability jumps off the page with how aggressive and crafty she is while attacking her defenders, her passing is underrated and an important skill she possesses for when teams plan on doubling her on the drive, her rebounding led her team this past season in which they made it to the state tournament, and she can defend full-court with the best of them. All of these skills stand out when she takes the floor, no matter what team she is playing for. During her sophomore year she averaged 18.8 PPG, 8 RPG, and 3 APG on the way to an overall 21-3 record. Over the next few seasons this Davenport North team is going to be a problem with Houston and Bourrage, so keep an eye out. They are the best sophomore duo in the state of Iowa and they know it.
