Michigan’s class of 2026 has the potential to be truly special and the amount of talent in the top 5 definitely signifies that. Let’s take a look at the top 5 the way it stands upon the initial rankings release.
Williams is quite simply one of the top overall prospects in the country. Her combination of height, length, ball skills and athleticism is elite. Williams doesn’t just have length, but she knows how to use it, to a degree well beyond her age. She led her HEA Firebirds to a National Championship and will be featured on the Michigan Mystics Dalton S40 2026 team this spring and summer.
Smith is an elite lead guard that plays big on big stages. She started and was the floor general for a state title contending Lake Fenton team. As a freshman, Smith was named 2nd Team All-State and Tri-County Player of the Year. She’s elite with the ball in her hands and her mental game is as strong as her physical game. Smith will be suiting up for the Michigan Storm GUAA 2025 squad.
Sain is another high caliber guard in the class of 2026. She has the chance to be one of the best overall athletes in the state. Sain is electric with the ball has that next level explosiveness and ball skills. She makes lightning fast moves and can change directions at the drop of a dime, all while staying under complete control. Sain will be a must see prospect for high level coaches this spring.
Jackson has the chance to be a truly special high school basketball player. She’s already drawing the eyes of some top programs at the next level. Jackson is smooth with the ball and is excellent both handling and passing while in traffic. She’s very strong with the ball when going up at the rim. Jackson will be running with the Nike Lady Gym Rats this spring.
Bonner is an exciting guard that should have a lot of eyes on her game this spring and summer. She’s an elite ball handler that excels in 1 on 1 matchups where she can break down defenders and attack the rim. Bonner does a terrific job of keeping defenders at arms length on the drive and finishing with a pretty scoop and score. In a testament to the depth of this class, I feel like she has top 100 in the country type of potential. Bonner will be playing with MBA during grassroots season.
