There were several events that took place that had college coaches and scouts from all over the country flocking to be in attendance such as the Boo Williams Nike EYBL circuit in Hampton, VA, The Clash in Hamilton, OH, The Apache Memorial Showcase in Knoxville, TN and UA Rise Session I at the Nook in Manheim, PA. Prep Girls Hoops Circuit also hosted the Crossroads Clash in Indianapolis, IN.
Check out these prospects that have really increased their stock during the AAU season so far as well during the first live period last weekend.
Madelyn Curtsinger
Madelyn Curtsinger
Madelyn Curtsinger has been opening a lot of eyes so far playing for the Louisville Lady Aces. It seems like she is gaining more confidence and it is helping her game tremendously. Curtsinger played pretty well at The Clash she was in a groove offensively scoring in the post and hitting shots from the perimeter. She hit the glass hard as well snatching rebounds and going coast to coast with the rock. She had a great game against Factory Basketball 2025 Orange putting up 19 points and 13 rebounds. Curtsinger is playing on another level right now and I don’t see her slowing down anytime soon.
Ella Pinkney
Ella Pinkney
Ella Pinkney is the definition of “Ball is Life” her drive and passion for the game is second to none and that’s what makes her such a special player. She scored 28 points in the regional championship game this past season for a Lewis County team that made the WV state tournament. At the Clash she showed her ability to score from all 3-levels while also getting her teammates involved. Pinkney started out hot against Strick Hoops scoring the first six points for OV Dragons but the team didn’t shoot the ball very well and ended up losing the game by three.
Highlights
The Lexington Crossover 2027 team is having a lot of success so far as we are still early in the AAU season. Layla Flynn Layla Flynn 5'7" | PG Dunbar | 2027 State KY averaged 15.7 points, 6 assist at The Clash last weekend she had a huge game against the SMAC Rebels scoring 23 points and dished 8 assist. Flynn followed that performance with another big game in a win over Dana Evans Elite she had 22 points and 7 assist. Lexington Crossover ended the weekend with a loss against Powerhouse Genesis who was able to get their revenge from losing to Crossover in the previous tournament’s championship game.

Kaleigh Potts Kaleigh Potts 5'7" | CG Tates Creek | 2027 State KY averaged 18 points and 5 assist last weekend at The Clash leading the team in scoring. Potts had a strong game against Legends Ohio Impact who were undefeated so far on the season. She had 24 points along with 6 assist in a hard fought game where Lexington Crossover came up short because of a late game turnover that allowed the other team to score as the time expired.
Katie Mastin Katie Mastin 5'4" | PG West Jessamine | 2026 State KY had her share of impressive performances at The Clash last weekend running with Dana Evans Elite 2026. She played with her usual high motor giving all out effort on both ends of the floor. I liked her game against Dayton Metro she had 13 points going 5-6 from the floor. Mastin also stepped up big on the defensive end against a physical Indiana Elite Platinum 2026 team. She took on the challenge of guarding the best players while doing a good job jumping passing lanes. Her play helped Dana Evans Elite get the win 41-35.
Makiyia Wheeler Makiyia Wheeler 5'5" | PG Franklin County | 2027 State KY

Makiyia Wheeler Makiyia Wheeler 5'5" | PG Franklin County | 2027 State KY played extremely well at The Clash and was a difference maker for Kentucky Premier 2027. Defenders could not keep Wheeler in check her handles combined with her quickness allowed her to penetrate the lane where she often scored at the rim or kicked it out to an open teammate for the assist. She also wreaked havoc on defense by anticipating passes causing deflections and turnovers. Wheeler played good when Kentucky Premier matched up against I-90 Elite she had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 6 assist. The next day she had her best game of the tournament scoring 20 points, along with 4 steals, 5 rebounds, and 5 assist against Indiana Pride Aspire.
