There were teams of all ages competing against one another, and we have the following young athletes already competing at a high level. Many of these were freshman who were contributing to their high school teams right from the beginning, and there are even some younger ball handlers that should be worth your time!
Camri Hobbs Camri Hobbs 6’0″ | PG Jay M. Robinson | 2026 State NC was using some nice jab steps to blow by her defender around the perimeter and attack the paint. She put up her shot through contact and made it count from the free throw line. She is strong handling the ball and protecting every possession knowing how to attack the gaps to get some points.
Hannah Moss Hannah Moss 5’7″ | PG Independence | 2026 State NC is crafty with the ball shifting around her defenders. She follows shots grabbing rebounds on both ends. She uses some nice ball fakes to create some space, and she can pull up from anywhere to score some points. She had a nice drive to the hoop side stepping and finishing at the rim for points late in a tough matchup.

Gabby Crawley slides down into the right position to block passes. She attacks the basket driving hard through contact making some old fashioned three point plays. She came in clutch increasing the lead for her team late in a close game knocking down her shot from deep and hustling back for a nice block on a fast break.
Tiara Thompson Tiara Thompson 5’7″ | PG West Rowan | 2026 State NC does a nice job looking up the court making long passes to her teammates cutting in the lanes for fast breaks. She grabs steals herself to score on solo fast breaks. She even showed off her ability to block some shots. She plays with a calm composure every time she is on the court showing how she doesn’t get rattled even when pressure comes on her when she’s handling the ball.
Sami Ward Sami Ward 5’8″ | CG Oak City Prep | 2026 State NC attacked the basket using shot fakes to get her defenders off their feet in order for her to score some points. She used power dribbles to score her points driving hard down the lane. She gets inside for rebounds, too, going up and over her opponents to grab the board or knock it out of their way. She had a nice play using an in and out dribble to a spin move for the fast break two points.
Ameya Brown Ameya Brown 5’4″ | PG Terry Sanford | 2026 State NC was feisty on defense stripping the ball from her opponents and driving it hard going the other direction. She attacked the basket and made sure her points counted from the free throw line. She had a nose for the basket finishing as the leading scorer in her team’s game on Sunday.

Brianna Carelock Brianna Carelock 5’5″ | PG Northside Christian | 2026 State NC continues to show how she is one of the best ball handlers in her class pushing the tempo and finding her open teammates. She can even make some sharp one handed passes when needed avoiding her opponents’ hands. Her hands are always in the way on defense deflecting passes. Her high level IQ is on display knowing when to pull up for her own shot or make the pass.

Julienne Chambliss Julienne Chambliss 5’6″ | PG Fort Mill | 2026 State SC makes some sharp cuts to get open losing her defender for the in bounds passes or backdoor cuts. She was quick getting her hands in the way on defense. She is quick handling the ball and shows the importance of passing and cutting to always be an asset on the court.

Claire Frank Claire Frank 5’8″ | CG South Point | 2026 NC showed off her range shooting the ball on multiple occasions. She moves well handling the ball finding the open teammate to put up her shot. She hustled up the court being ready for the pass in transition to score. She read her opponents’ passes well jumping in front of them, and she immediately found her teammates cutting up the court.

Courtney Ashford filled in the lanes on fast breaks even making three points after finishing from the free throw line. She gets to the paint using some nice crossovers, and she knows when to take it all the way or pull up for her jump shot. On defense, she can easily strip the ball from her opponents trying to get by her.

Jillian Simmons knocked down her shot from deep on multiple occasions. She did a nice job driving to the basket and finding her open teammate in the paint for some points. She pushed the ball up the court on fast breaks knowing when to make the shot or pass to her open teammate.
