Continue ReadingDesi Davis was a mismatch. Equipped with combo-forward capabilities, Davis attacked both in the paint and on the perimeter. She used her strong frame to get on the glass and score through traffic inside. Davis could burst through traps on the perimeter, showcase her ball handling skills and get downhill. Desi has a soft touch from the perimeter. Her motor and nose for the ball were impressive.
Length and skill set. Those are what you get with Kylie Watkins Kylie Watkins 6’0″ | PF White County | 2025 State GA . She blocked shots inside at a high level, ran the floor for easy hoops and was able to initiate offense from the perimeter as a shooter, passer and driver. Watkins is a chess piece that can be moved around the board and put in many different areas to succeed.
The state champ looked light on her feet, floating around the floor darting different directions as she was in the middle of everything. Pearl made a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2 with her creative handle against pressure. She has a tough spin move in traffic and can quickly locate the rim to get to her floater. Sophia is a lethal shooter from deep. She shows a lot of toughness on both ends of the floor and is undervalued as a defender, a really pesky perimeter guarder. Multiple D-I schools have offered.
Highlights
Georgia Southern became the state champion’s first D-I offer after River Ridge’s win over Lovejoy. Cleaveland was a major stock riser this season. The southpaw’s ability to score with her jumper and pound away for buckets inside is impressive. At camp she did a good job scoring in transition and running the floor. Kayla’s skilled at using both hands at the rim. Even with her foot not at 100%, she’s often times the quickest to every rebound and every loose ball. Expect more D-I offers to pile in this offseason.
Lopez was wicked with her handle and robust scoring arsenal. Hannah is extremely polished, so smooth with the ball in her hands. Her crossover is clean, low and sharp. She’s able to create space on the perimeter and get to her spots. Hannah shoots the three very well off the dribble. When she decides to break down her man and get into the paint, she uses a soft floater to negate length. Lopez is a very skilled point guard that should have colleges across multiple levels vie for her services.
