SubscribeFor those who don’t know, it’s been 10 years since I started working with Pass Tha Ball and we had the first major Individual Showcase in Texas with around 120 attendees, HoopAHolics. I have placed a link using the search bar on my BLOG to show you the countless players that participated over the years and went on to the next level, including D1. Several became McDonald’s All Americans and many played professionally, including the WNBA
I have helped thousands of players get on the map over the years and directly helped countless play at the next level, my daughter, of course, plays in the WNBA and won a championship with Las Vegas last season and also helped lead Texas A&M to a National Championship in 2011 but even before all of that she had over 100 D1 offers
The game has changed as social media has so much information out there, all of it is not good, so I try and give honest evaluations on what I see and did I see some stars of the future in the 2027 game, here’s part 1
Micah Ojo

Ojo left me speechless at times as she is way ahead of the game, let me start with she’s “long and athletic” which is the base yet her ability to score any way she wants is special. Off the dribble, forget about it, her first step coupled with her body control and length enables her to score as she elevates over defenders. Her mid to long-range is nice, she plays the passing lane, defends, on the ball, and rebounds
Finley Parker

-6’1 G [GA]
Parker plays within herself and understands how to get hers in the flow and by her being able to play multiple positions, she showed me a lot. She has nice moves around the basket when she played on the low post yet she did a good job attacking the basket with a deceptive first step. She also created her shot and dropped the midrange but her defense and rebounding also looked good
Love Forde-6’1 P [0R]
Forde showed me something I love from another era and that’s solid “hands and footwork” in the paint. She uses her body well around the basket, understands how to seal, and finished strongly. She also rebounded on both ends, she ran the floor on both ends yet one of the highlights was watching her go coast to coast handling the ball after rebounding and seeing the floor
Ma’Riyah Alfred-5’6 CG [TX]
Alfred is a “long and athletic” guard, which also is the base, and watching her acrobatic finishes over the years tells me a lot about what she’ll be doing in high school. She’s going to make that initial PGH Watchlist because she simply can take over games offensively. Mid to long-range jumper keeps getting better, she plays solid defense and plays the passing lane
Azharia Johnson Azharia Johnson 6'3" | C Arlington Bowie | 2027 TX -6’3 F/C [TX]
Johnson is also a lock for the initial 10 players I’ll be dropping soon. She sold me last season playing up with her club team, I mean way up and she too has the “hands and footwork” thing down. I hadn’t seen her attack the basket from the wing or drop the midrange, her damage on the inside stood out last summer, yet she’s added those two things which will make her difficult to defend. She also rebounds on both ends
Mia Spain Mia Spain 5'6" | PG Kellam | 2027 State VA -5’5 G [VA]
Spain showed the HEZ as well as fakes and spins so many times until I became dizzy but her attacking from multiple angles and showing very nice body control on her finishes after contact had me smiling. She also creates her shot under pressure and drops the mid and long-range jumper with a hand in her face. Speaking of pressure, her “on the ball” defense was nice
Kate Spain Kate Spain 5'6" | PG Kellam | 2027 State VA -5’5 G [VA]
Spain also has the HEZ which helped her go by defenders and finish and my just realizing they were twins means I’m still dizzy. I enjoyed her tenacity on the defensive end and her quick hands came away with steals galore, as well as her playing the passing lane yet she saw the floor both in the open court as well as the set. She did a good job creating her shot in the set as well as dropping it
Maci Pringle-5’10 G [TX]
Pringle is “long athletic”, see above somewhere and add UPS to it as “up, up and away” as she leaves the floor quickly and when you factor in her timing to block shots, that speaks volumes. Her defense was nice, and so was her playing the passing lane and seeing the floor afterward. She also did a good job scoring off the dribble as well as dropping the jumper, both in the set and in transition
