The players below are a mixture of athletes who were ranked prior to this update and athletes who were not, the common factor between everyone being that they are all Stock-Risers with promising futures on the basketball court looking forward. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Sydney Huber Sydney Huber 6’0″ | SG Mount Vernon | 2025 State IA moves in this rankings update from the #17 spot to the #14 spot. Huber, a 6 foot shooting guard, has put together a nice spring for her Team Iowa AAU squad. Her ceiling and potential are what stand out to everyone around her. A player who is a natural shooter with great length, speed, and coordination. These past few seasons Huber has been a player to watch out of this class but now, what she can really do is starting to come to surface. All her hardwork and dedication to the sport she loves is paying off and it’s awesome to see. Keep her name in the back of your head. This varsity season is going to be a big one for her at CR-Xavier.
Jayden Kuper Jayden Kuper 5’11” | SF Monticello | 2025 State IA only moves up one spot in this update and that is from #14 to #13. Which doesn’t seem that great to someone from the outside looking in but trust me, it’s something to be proud of when you consider the players in-front and around her on this list. Kuper is an athletic small forward who can space the floor. She has the ability to catch with her back to the basket and finish over a smaller player, the ability to put the ball on the floor from the perimeter and get to the rim, and the ability to knock down an open shot if the defense sags off of her. Throughout the entire 2025 class Kuper is one of the most complete players, who is always productive in one way or another. I’m excited to see how she will end her summer, heading into the high school season this winter at Monticello.
The question about Finley Blackmore Finley Blackmore 5’11” | SG Ankeny Centennial | 2025 State IA is not if she is skilled at the sport of basketball but HOW good can she really become? What is her ceiling? Well as of late, she has been killing it. A player that has always had her name floating around the 2025 class has been putting on a show from all over the court on offense, while being a stifling on-ball defender, when it comes to that side of the game. Something else that is impressive about her overall play-style is her knowledge of what is going on around her. She always understands the situation and the best route of attack from there. When you get into the Top 20-30 players in the 2025 class in Iowa, we are talking about several division 1 athletes. I’ll be interested to see if she can keep her momentum going into this fall and make another jump on this list moving into the high school season. Something do-able but we will just have to wait and see.

Emilie Sorensen Emilie Sorensen 5’9″ | SG Waukee | 2025 State IA only moves up one spot in this rankings update from #36 to #35 but I think this high school season is going to change that. This winter Sorensen is going to have a chance to really make her presence known on the floor for her Waukee high school team. She will have a chance to have the ball in her hands more on offense while showing what she can do. I expect a lot out of Sorensen. An athlete who works hard on every single possession while producing on almost each play when she touches the ball, in one way or another. There are a ton impressive girls throughout Iowa high school basketball right now, and Emilie is in that conversation. I’m excited to see her make the most out of all opportunities she gets in the future.

Paytn Harter Paytn Harter 6’0″ | SF Atlantic | 2025 State IA ‘s rise in the 2025 class rankings has been similar to her game on the court. Consistent. Harter, a 6 foot power forward, is a solid talent. A player who moves from #31 to #29, has shown that no matter the competition, she is going to be dominate. As a post she does a great job understanding her size and the space around her. She has the ability to score in a plethora of ways near the hoop while not needing much room to work. From what I’ve seen she is an intense competitor with a high-motor and strong will when she is in the game. Sometimes there are players out there that can “will” their teams to victories in the end because of all the hard work and dedication they put in. Harter falls in that category in my book. College coaches watch out for this one. She is going to be a player who comes in and does what is asked of her, to her fullest capabilities every time. Something everyone out there can respect.
