Libby Fandel Libby Fandel 5’11” | SF Cedar Rapids Xavier | 2025 State IA starts our count-down at the #5 spot in this Players Rankings Update for the 2025 class. Fandel, a 5’11 shooting guard, is a mixed bag on the floor. In the sense that she can do a lot of things well for her teams. She has great length accompanied with some quick speed, is a three level scoring threat, and most importantly she is extremely efficient whenever the ball is in her hands. She has an act for being in the right place at the right time and making the most of it. She doesn’t need much space to work with to produce consistently. If a defense makes a mis-step, it’s probably going to end up in a basket for whatever team Fandel is playing for when she is in control. Going forward, this #5 spot is going to be a battle. There are a lot of deserving players for this number in our rankings but as of right now, Fandel is going to continue to stay right where she is.

#4. Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5'10" | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA – Dowling Catholic High School
Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5’10” | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA maintains the #4 spot in this Rankings Update. I will say it was a tough debate when you break down everything about her game with the possibility of moving her up but looking toward the future, I’m comfortable with where Zediker is placed right now. A player who is going to be a game-changer at the new level when she laces up for the Creighton Bluejays after her high school career comes to a close. Until then, Zediker is going to continue on the tear she has been on. This spring she has shown that she is not only one of the top point guards throughout the state of Iowa, but the country in the way that she controls the tempo of her contests she participates in. I’m excited to see her compete at EYBL nationals in less than a month against some other nationally ranked competition. It’s going to be a weekend to show everyone what she can bring to the table against some of the best out there. I’m excited to see what happens.

#3. Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6'0" | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA – Davenport North High School
At #3 we have what is starting to be a house-hold name in the state of Iowa and that is Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6’0″ | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA . Bourrage is another individual who could be in the category of a player with a “mixed bag”. She has the ability to destroy her opponents off of the dribble, or pull up and score over basically anyone with her jump-shot, from any range. Not to mention that she has some extreme athleticism. One of the most impressive parts of her game when you break it down is how fast her first-step is off of the dribble. There aren’t any players that I have seen this spring that could stick with her, one-on-one in the open court, if given the chance. Lastly, when you add in her physicality, she really shows why she is a Top 3 player out of this 2025 class. She welcomes contact while hunting for AND-1 opportunities wherever she beats her initial defender, usually going right at the teeth of the defense. Know the name moving forward if you don’t already, but I’m sure you already do.

#2. Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6'2" | C Johnston | 2025 State IA – Johnston High School
Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6’2″ | C Johnston | 2025 State IA comes in as the #2 player in this Rankings Update and for good reason. A player who is also the #1 center in the state has been consistent on both ends of the floor, a leader in every sense of the word, a pivotal play-maker when the game is on the line, and an all-time competitor that brings great energy to the teammates around her. When you break down her fundamentals they are well-seasoned. She has great footwork with her back to the basket while understanding her size. If the defender is smaller then she keeps it simple and just goes up & over, if not she has a plethora of post moves she can pull out of her bag at any given moment to get a basket for her team. Looking forward, I am confident in saying that Jenkins is going to be a productive player at the college level almost immediately. When she has her confidence going, she is almost unstoppable at times.

#1. Journey Houston Journey Houston 5'11" | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA – Davenport North High School
Coming in at #1 in this 2025 Players Rankings Update and keeping the top spot for now is Journey Houston Journey Houston 5’11” | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA . Houston has had a sensational spring just like the rest of the athletes on this list. She has been scoring in big waves, defending the 1-3 position and even the 4 in certain situations, and has been showing that her play-style is one that is extremely complete all around. In most, if not all categories her game is superior to the players usually around her on the court. I’m interested to see Houston play this July and into her high school season this winter at Davenport North, where last season the Wildcats made it to the state tournament. With the ceiling that Houston and Bourrages both have, I’m sure this team is going to have a great run over the next few seasons in the state of Iowa but only time will tell if they will put it together and create something special for generations to come. Something that is more than do-able with this group and its personal.
