PGH Triumph Region Finals – 15U First Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2023 Triumph Region Finals are in the books – and with it, the bulk of the 2023 Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two more Circuit events are on tap for mid-July in Kansas and the 2K23 live period event in Chicago from July 22-23. The Upward Star Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina is where all of the action emanated from as several of the region's 15U, 16U and 17U travel teams converged on the Palmetto State's Upstate.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Phoenix Carter 2027 out of North Carolina won this year's 15U championship, but there was talent across the board among the 15U pool. In the 15U semifinals, the star rising freshman certainly showed up against a Louisiana-based My Sister's Keeper 2026 assembling that appeared to be in cruise control for much of the weekend. My Sister's Keeper 2026 ran into Parker and the rest of that stifling Phoenix Carter 2027 defense and Parker ensured they met their match. She led the team in scoring with 11 points in the semifinals. With the score tied at 36, Parker was fouled and she made a pair of go-ahead free throws to put her team ahead by two. The Trojans, who finished 23-10 in 2022-23, had three representatives on the team – including Cunningham who played her first season with the varsity Trojans as an eighth grader. Cunningham wasted no time making an impact at the Triumph Region Finals. She scored 19 points in a thrilling overtime contest against [program_tooltip program_id='713840' first='Charleston' last='Raptors'] 2026 then scored 12 points to help her team claim the 15U crown. She was a bright spot in that championship game as she placed eight points on the board while the team struggled as a whole. Hanks is a two-sport athlete as she also participates on the varsity soccer team at 2A Oceanside Collegiate. Smith understands how to put points on the board from virtually anywhere on the floor and she also understands how to get into position to bring down rebounds. She was one of the centerpieces of what [program_tooltip program_id='715744' first='Upstate' last='Rebels'] 2026 was getting accomplished in the frontcourt. Among that is her ability to corral offensive rebounds.
