Below are some players that have made strides, on the biggest of stages this year so far. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy.
Mya Crawford Mya Crawford 5’7″ | SG Ankeny Centennial | 2025 State IA has been a well respected prospect out of the state of Iowa for a few years now but this past year, her recruitment and game has risen to new heights. Crawford is a versatile guard, who can play the 1 or the 2 for her teams. She seems to thrive more when she plays off of the ball as the 2, with the ability to catch in her offenses and attack the defense in a number of different ways. I expect more and more offers to role in for Crawford as this summer comes to an end. Going into her senior year, she is going to be a player to keep an eye on. This is going to be her best high school season to date. She is going to have every opportunity to show the state that she is one of the best guards out there.
Jhaliana Guy Jhaliana Guy 5’10” | PG Bettendorf | 2028 IA was a player that I mentioned at the beginning of spring this season in an article saying she was the “next best thing”. Well, I don’t want to jump to conclusions but Guy played up this past weekend for her Mac Irvin Fire 17U team and she looked like she belonged. Guy is an interesting player. Great size, nice speed, and awesome coordination for her age. Coming into high school, if she stays in Iowa, its going to be hard to not rank her as the #1 player throughout the state in the 2028 class. Until then, she is going to keep working on her craft and stay locked in. A bright future lies ahead for this one. No doubt about it.

Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6’0″ | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA is a player that I recently mentioned but because of how well she has been playing, there is no way I could leave her out of this write-up. Bourrage is growing talent. Both metaphorically and literally. She has always possessed great size, speed, and athleticism, with a bit of skill. As of recent though, Bourrages is playing with intent and showing that she can do it all on the floor. During the EYBL Nike Nationals she showed out to be one of the best players there at the 17U level, while only being a member of the 2025 class. This spring and summer has been huge for Divine. She has been the definition of a stock-riser, especially as of late.
I had the chance to watch Ava Locklear Ava Locklear 5’11” | SF Clear Creek Amana | 2024 State IA play last season in a contest at home during the winter months of her high school season. She was as good as advertised but my only concern was how well does her game translate to the college level? We are going to find out. Locklear has had a few offers come in over the past few weeks, including some D2 interest out of the midwest. Locklear can really play so I expect that this summer ends off strong for herself and she shows that she can be a contributing piece to a successful college program in the near future. As for right now, Locklear is set to have an awesome senior season of high school ball after losing in the first round of the state playoffs a year ago with her Clear Creek Amana Clippers teams. This year the Clippers will be back, with most of their players returning for a shot at redemption. Something that is more than doable.
It’s hard for me to say that Callie Levin Callie Levin 5’10” | PG Solon | 2024 State IA ‘s stock has risen this spring/summer as she has been committed to the University of Iowa for a few years now, but as of late, she is showing to everyone watching that she is going to compete at Iowa. During this time of year in AAU ball there is so much going on but usually the stars still shine and that’s what is happening here. Levin has switched AAU programs for her last season and it’s seeming to have been the right move. She has the ability to play more freely, while getting everyone else around her involved. Something that she truly loves doing. I’m excited to see how what she can put together for her senior season at Solon high school and what she can do on a college floor, in the near future. With the work ethic that she has displayed growing up, the sky is the limit.
