and her Clear Creek Amana high school team were labeled as one of my favorites to win the 4A state title this season. The only way that is going to be possible is if Locklear can have another great season at the Forward position. Locklear is a versatile playmaker and athlete on the floor that does a little bit of everything for her Clippers team and I’m expecting no less this time around. As of most recent, Locklear has committed to continue her college career at Saginaw Valley State. After putting together an AAU season to remember, Locklear was getting a good amount of looks from around the midwest. In the end, the Cardinals got a real competitor and ultimately, a steal out of this 2024 class in Iowa. Now that her future is locked in, I’m sure Locklear can’t wait to start her senior season.

play last season in a contest at home during the winter months of her high school season. She was as good as advertised but my only concern was how well does her game translate to the college level? We are going to find out. Locklear has had a few offers come in over the past few weeks, including some D2 interest out of the midwest. Locklear can really play so I expect that this summer ends off strong for herself and she shows that she can be a contributing piece to a successful college program in the near future. As for right now, Locklear is set to have an awesome senior season of high school ball after losing in the first round of the state playoffs a year ago with her Clear Creek Amana Clippers teams. This year the Clippers will be back, with most of their players returning for a shot at redemption. Something that is more than doable.

Versatile forward who really stuffs the stats in several categories, on a consistent basis. Is a strong rebounder and finisher at the rim. Three level scorer who is lethal from 15ft and in. An overall team leader. Does a good job of keeping her head up in tough situations and moving onto the next play. Player that can consistently have 15/7/5 for this team as well as make a difference on the defensive side of the floor, game in and game out.

is currently averaging a double/double while putting up 14 PPG and 11 RPG, not including that she is dishing out just under 3 assists as well in her efforts on the floor. Locklear is a versatile combo forward who can really do it all for her team. She is has an act for scoring from several different positions, she can rebound with the best of them while being physical, she can spread out the defense as she knocks down a shot, and lastly she plays some hard-nose defense. Though this team has so much talent, Ava is really the soul of this group. As long as she can keep up what she has been doing all season long, she is going to find even more success on the biggest high school stage she can over the next week, something I’m excited to see up close.

Locklear never disappoints. Defenses’ attempts at taking her away usually fail because her skill set allows her to contribute across the board. She led her team in assists in this game, passing efficiently out of double-teams. She offers a knockout, mid-range game that effectively complements her wide array of post moves.

Mount Vernon, like most Clipper challengers, directed a lot of attention at the talented Locklear. To her credit, she moved the ball to open teammates who obliged by knocking down 13 three-pointers. She still managed 11 points and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds. She also played strong defense in the post. Locklear is a fundamentally sound and smart performer on both ends of the court.

is a double double machine all while her team is having success and that’s about all their coach could ask for. Locklear, the versatile forward, is an athletic mis-match to most and has an act for finding the ball off of a missed shot for a rebound or rebound and put back. Starting out this season at 6-2 this team will look to come out of the break on a tear and move into the playoffs with some big-time momentum. When you combined the ability to score and rebounding of Ava along with the teammates that are around her, it is likely that this team will keep succeeding until the year is over. Before this season begun she was already receiving some interest for colleges in the area but after this year I’m sure that her name will be reaching further than that.

has been a staple in the middle for her CCA Clippers team this season during her junior year and she won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Locklear, who is receiving a good amount of college interest and deservingly so, has been everything that her team has asked of her this year and more, helping her team to an overall 6-2 record to start the 22′-23′ season. The best ways that I would be able to describe Locklear as a player is that she possesses a high motor, very high basketball IQ, and great work ethic while always trying to learn and get others involved. She is the perfect player in a coaches point of view as you always know what you are going to get out of her each game. Her consistency and efficient work on the floor provides the foundation for some real success individually and for her team over the next few seasons. It will be a long road to make it through playoffs to state for this CCA team but it’s definitely possible. This team has every piece to make a big run and show how good they really can be once they put it all together going into the end of the season.

may not of led her team in points in their 75-57 win over Solon on Tuesday night but she scored 16 points paired along with 16 rebounds, an incredible stat line to say the least. Locklear is the senior leader of this CCA Clippers team and plays with a good amount of young talent. Some other major players making a difference last night were Olivia Miller and Bliss Beck who each added 18 points of their own in the contest. Coming into this week I said that this match-up would come down to how much the deep bench of CCA would contribute against a very good Spartan team. They ended up doing enough to get a big win at home along with learning a lot about themselves in the process. This team has some great pieces from freshman through seniors and if they keep playing like this, they will see themselves at state when it comes that time. When it comes to Locklear it’ll be interesting to see where she ends up as she is receiving interest for a good amount of colleges from around her area.

Solon designed its game plan to stopping Locklear, a strategy she might see plenty more of this season. She still ended up 16 points and 16 rebounds. She showed a knack for handling double teams by passing to open teammates from the high and low post instead of forcing up shots with extra attention on her. She’s a powerful presence under the basket and features a silky looking shot in the mid-range.
