Athletes who play on the wing are versatile with the talents that they bring to the court. Here are some of those players in the 16U division from the event.
Kaitlyn Farrell
Kaitlyn Farrell
Kaitlyn Farrell was paying well on both ends of the court getting her hands in the way on defense and pushing steals up the court for some points for her team. She got inside for rebounds, and she handled her business guarding a post player inside. She hustled up the court handling the ball herself or being ready to get the pass or offensive rebound on fast breaks.
Cameryn Ridderikhoff Cameryn Ridderikhoff 5’10” | SF Madison Central | 2025 State KY brought some intensity attacking the basket battling through contact for some points and even finishing some old fashioned three point plays. It seemed like her ability to finish through contact and from the free throw line was on repeat throughout the weekend. She filled in the lanes perfectly on fast breaks staying ready for the pass and bucket.
Annabelle Cox Annabelle Cox 5’10” | PF Lucy Beckham | 2025 State SC seemed to constantly have her hands involved in the play knocking it out of her opponents’ possession and getting the steal. She also filled in the holes on defense getting to the basket and calling for the ball. She did a nice job handling the ball around the perimeter making adjustments to get the best pass into her teammates.
Jacquelyn Jakubecy
Jacquelyn Jakubecy
Jacquelyn Jakubecy showed off her range shooting the ball setting herself up for some nice shots from deep. She had a nice move running full speed in transition catching the pass, throwing up a shot fake, and hitting the short baseline jumper for two. The next possession she knocked down another three pointer bringing some life back to her team. She did a nice job following shots to grab the rebound.
Zihanna Lightfoot had a nice outback on the block off an offensive rebound bringing some life to her team late in a tough matchup. She knew how to cut from block to block to get open, and she would stretch the floor being able to hit some midrange jumpers.
