Madison Coutinho
Madison Coutinho
Madison Coutinho is small in stature but not in impact. Throughout her freshman season, she would leave her fingerprints all over games without scoring. Her ball handling and high IQ made her important offensively. She is a scrappy and a committed defender. The most surprising thing about Madison is her rebounding. She rebounded exceptionally well at times despite being only 5’4.
Now this one is kind of misleading because Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5’10” | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA is one of the best players in the 2024 class. But what she does well for PVI fits into this category nicely. At Woodgrove, the first few years of high school, she was what you would consider a traditional star. She scored a lot, and the offense ran through her. Now with better talent around her, Sadie is putting up fewer big-scoring games, but she does all the other things at such a high level. Her distribution and ball handling are top-notch; she defends exceptionally well and is a terrific rebounder for a guard. Adaptability and portability are essential and underrated!
Sophie Toole Sophie Toole 5'6" | CG Oakton | 2026 State VA
Sophie Toole Sophie Toole 5'6" | CG Oakton | 2026 State VA
Oakton hung their hat on defense last year, and it’s why they were so successful. Sophie Toole Sophie Toole 5’6″ | CG Oakton | 2026 State VA consistently guarded the other team’s best perimeter player and made life difficult for them. She gets to the rim well, but defense is her calling card, and she is elite.
Maggie Mills
Maggie Mills
Maggie Mills is someone I was in the middle in putting on this list. Loudoun County is young and a team I see winning many more games this year. Maggie is a great rebounder; her length will make her an elite defender. Maggie could be someone you see rise in the coming three years, and she could be a focal point of the offense at some point.
