Halton was an effective mid-range scorer, off the catch and off the bounce. At roughly 5’7, the guard was especially productive knocking down shots in the mid-range. Proving confident even through contests, Halton was dependable at rising up into shots with a nearby defender, grabbing multiple fouls on those attempts. Even stretching out to the three point line, the guard did well being shot ready at all times. Off the ball, Halton was active filling open space, grabbing a few fouls or and-1 opportunities after receiving the pass.
Sophie Husk Sophie Husk 5'10" | SF Erie | 2027 State CO – Erie
Husk did well from a variety of areas, passing, shotmaking, and defensive instincts were all areas to note from the incoming freshman. She was acutely aware of outlet passing opportunities, grabbing plenty of defensive rebounds to push the pace. At roughly 5’10, Husk boasted above average size against the vast majority of athletes from this event. In the majority of her games, Husk recorded 2+ blocks, coming from the point of attack or help side. On the offensive end, she was a contributor on all three levels. Capable of stepping into mid-range jumpers before the help side rotation arrives, she did well setting her feet quickly. Either on or off the ball, she had quick feet getting into her jumpers. She could even stretch out the floor past the three point line, capable of getting those shots off the catch.
Madilynn Clark – Mead
Clark was a capable ball handler, effective at facilitating and making plays off the dribble. Quite a few times, the guard grabbed defensive rebounds for coast to coast finishes at the rim. She did a great job of recognizing openings in the break, sending out long range outlet passes. Clark did especially well defending a variety of positions, capable stepping out to the perimeter or staying strong in post. Offensively, she was active with the jump shot, stretching out to the three point line. Given her consistency handling the ball, Clark proved capable of setting her feet quickly for mid-range pull-ups, already effectively letting it fly given her height.
Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5'6" | SG Bridgeport | 2027 NE – Bridgeport (NE)
Brown was a notable downhill scoring threat, proving strong enough to take contact and readjust on finishes. The guard was among the strongest backcourt scoring threats from the weekend, on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she had strong hands ripping away the ball from opponents multiple times per game. Proving to have excellent timing on defense, Brown grabbed multiple blocks either from help side or while guarding at the point of attack. She did well pushing the pace off of blocks and steals, seeking potential outlet passes off the new possession.
Cate Wetterling Cate Wetterling 5'9" | SG Valor Christian | 2027 State CO – Valor Christian
Wetterling did well facilitating for her teammates, proving to see the floor at an above average level. She was an excellent help side defender, rotating early to stunt drives around the rim. Given her quick positioning on drives, the 5’8 guard did well grabbing defensive rebounds. Within the halfcourt, she could utilize crossovers and hesitations to fool point of attack defenders, allowing extra space for driving lanes. Far from just a downhill scoring threat, Wetterling knocked down multiple threes throughout the event.
