Freshman Showcase standouts

She scored a ridiculous amount of points and made some tough shots. Sabrina's engine never stops; she has a natural edge that makes her effective on the glass and as a defender. What I love about Sabrina is that whenever I watch her, I notice she can effectively play different styles. She sometimes is the pure PG facilitating the offense, or like today, she was uber-aggressive, putting up big scoring games. She is very smooth, and even when her shots weren't falling, you could see she had a lot of skill and had an excellent feel for the game. She made some nice passes and showed off her shooting ability, knocking down many open threes. Hailey was one of the more steady players on the day. She rebounded well and imposed her will inside, showing off her post-game and strength around the rim. I didn't know much about Lina coming in, but I left the day feeling she was one of the best players. Lina knocked down a handful of threes and did it comfortably. She is quick and attacks the basket well. Charisma made a couple of nice passes and created a lot of separation with her quickness and ball handling to get her shots off. Kelechi exemplified what it means to compete. Even if her offense was there for a lot of the day, it didn't matter. She still put in high levels of effort. She was the best perimeter defender I saw on the day. She is solid and rarely gets blown by. She attacks the rim hard and doesn't shy away from contact.
