The level of talent on display was outstanding and every player competed hard from start to finish. The class of 2027 in the Bluegrass State is loaded with prospects that will indeed play at the next level. Check out my standouts from this event.

Brynn Brickey Brynn Brickey 5'9" | SG South Oldham | 2027 State KY made a name for herself at the freshman showcase on Saturday. She played with a ton of energy on both ends and never backed down from the competition. Brickey was very active on defense using her length to deflect passes that turned into steals. She even took it upon herself to guard the opposing teams best player each game. Brickey made an impact on offense as well knocking down three pointers, making backdoor cuts and attacking the basket for points at the rim. She plays with passion and has the competitive spirit that you like to see in a player.
Kaleigh Potts
Kaleigh Potts
Kaleigh Potts did a great job pushing the pace thriving off of points in transition. It seemed like every time she had the ball in her hands she was going coast to coast scoring at the rim with a nice euro step layup that covered a lot of ground and was very hard to stop. She hit several perimeter jump shots as well. Potts is poised for a big freshman season at Tates Creek.
Maggie Simons
Maggie Simons
Maggie Simons played very well on Saturday. She was most effective with the ball in her hands attacking the basket. Once Simons got a full head of steam she easily blew past defenders for layups and can score with either hand at the rim. It was obvious too me that Simons played against top-tier competition with WV Thunder throughout the AAU season. She’s in for a big freshman year at Nicholas County. (Featured Image)
Avery Morris
Avery Morris
Avery Morris put her long range shooting ability on display on Saturday. She was money from downtown in the first game of the day when Team 3 matched up against Team 4. Morris can really score the basketball and is capable of putting up 20+ points anytime she steps on the court. Morris made the Region 4 Third Team last season for ACS and I see her having an even better freshman year this upcoming season.
Jozie Allen Jozie Allen 5'9" | SF Metcalfe County | 2027 State KY really caught my eye at the freshman showcase with her ability to rebound the ball, score off the dribble, run the floor in transition and make shots from the perimeter. Allen is extremely versatile, which made her very hard to stop. I see her making some noise at Metcalfe County this upcoming season.
