Earlier this week we posted the inaugural watch list for the Class of 2027. This list begins with 60 total prospects, and 11 of them are point guard prospects. There will be a number of changes to this list over the coming months and years, as we learn about new prospects, and as current listed prospects improve their "recruitability". While we don't have anyone truly ranked at this time, I did want to specifically mention five young ladies who stand out to me at this point in time.

.

[player_tooltip player_id='750766' first='McKenzie' last='Koch'], 2027, 5-8 PG, Eastern Hancock H.S.
- "Kenzie" is a skilled and cerebral point guard prospect who saw some action this Summer against 17U competition. She plays with her head up, scans the floor, and finds open teammates consistently. She also has a nice-looking jump-shot, but she's shifty as well, and she can get into the defense and really cause problems. Look for her to be a standout immediately for the Lady Royals.

[player_tooltip player_id='756239' first='Riley' last='Huotari'], 2027, 5-5 PG, Franklin Central H.S.
- Riley could be as impactful for the Lady Flashes as any member in their talented Freshman class, because they've been needing a dynamic ball-handler the last couple of seasons. She is a water-bug, with speed and quickness, and she can really get gaps and find teammates. Additionally, she is a capable perimeter shooter. Once she understands changing speeds, she'll be a problem.

[player_tooltip player_id='751057' first='Emily' last='Robison'], 2027, 5-5 PG, New Albany H.S.
- I haven't seen a lot of Emily, but from what I have seen, she seems to be very consistent. She has a fluid and smooth athleticism to her game, she takes care of the ball, doesn't feel pressure often, and she gets it where it needs to go. Additionally, she can score the ball herself, whether that's attacking the basket or knocking down a rhythm jumper. She will also defend with urgency.

[player_tooltip player_id='751090' first='Laila' last='Scott-Knox'], 2027, 5-3 PG, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis)
- Laila is a gritty, tough-nosed, hard-working point guard with some skill and ability. She has a fairly strong, athletic frame, she has nice length, and she plays with speed and quickness. She has touch outside and can create space for her shot, but she's also a willing facilitator, and it seems like she takes a lot of pride in the defensive end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='751088' first='Korinne' last='Nickolson'], 2027, 5-3 PG, Pike H.S.
- Korinne is a water-bug point guard with really nice speed and quickness. She is a playmaker at both ends of the floor and can affect the game in a variety of ways. Offensively, she is best off the bounce, attacking the defense and finding open teammates with her craftiness. Defensively, she is very feisty, she will frustrate opposing ball-handlers, and she will create turnovers.

.

ADDITIONAL POINT GUARDS CURRENTLY ON THE WATCH LIST:
[player_tooltip player_id='751035' first='Alexis' last='Finchum'], Charlestown H.S.
[player_tooltip player_id='751072' first='Jada' last='Frieson'], Warren Central H.S.
[player_tooltip player_id='751032' first='Abigail' last='Orme'], Hamilton Southeastern H.S.
[player_tooltip player_id='751087' first='Kendal' last='Price'], Mooresville H.S.
[player_tooltip player_id='751036' first='Allie' last='Tallent'], Monrovia H.S.
[player_tooltip player_id='751103' first='Marley' last='Warren'], Trinity Lutheran H.S.
