Prep Girls Hoops hosted their freshman showcase in the Carolinas today at Cox Mill high school. We were able to see some of the top freshman in the southeast compete against one another making sure they stood out. Here are the GameChangers of the event.
Lenise Joseph is a cheat code. She can block shots in the paint, and she has such smooth post moves to score her points. She hustles up and down the court blocking passes preventing fast breaks from happening. There’s certainly a reason her coach wants her in the game at the end of a close one as she can go to work in the paint on both ends of the court. She’s also consistently one of the more vocal players on the court.
Highlights
Aniah Love
Aniah Love
Aniah Love was attacking the basket and getting to the hoop taking over the game for her team in the second half scoring some points to make it a comeback. She had a finesse with the ball getting to the rim and rolling it off her fingertips. She had a nice stroke from deep making it count. She even drew a charge gaining possession with the offensive foul going against her opponent. She had a nice play coming off the screen and making the perfect bounce pass to her teammate rolling to the basket.
Jazaria Jones was always attacking the basket finding the weaknesses of her opponents. She was playing nice defense on the other end, too, stripping the ball from her opponents and making it difficult for them to get the ball in bounds. In another game, she made a nice cut getting the pass in-bounds and scoring it underneath the basket. Her cuts to get open are so quick making it easy for her to catch the ball, and she did a nice job changing tempo and slowing things down when needed after she got the pass.

Hina Nakamura
Hina Nakamura
Hina Nakamura was constantly getting her hands involved on defense stripping the ball and deflecting the pass to grab the steal. She did a nice job pushing these up the court for some fast breaks, and she was handling the ball well finding her open teammates underneath the basket. Her intensity was seen on both ends of the court grabbing steals and pushing the ball, and she showed off her ability to knock down shots from deep, too.
Londyn Campbell
Londyn Campbell
Londyn Campbell had a nice move attacking the basket and absorbing contact on her way to some points. It seemed like most defensive sets she was grabbing steals even on solo press defenses. Her hands were constantly getting in the way of her opponents. She didn’t shy away from diving on the floor going after loose balls. She had some nice range with her shots, too.
