The five players that I have highlighted below are the Top 5 players out of the 2025 Class going into this winter. Each player listed has special talents and holds D1 offers/is D1 committed.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Coming in at the #5 spot in our Top 5 of the 2025 Class is Libby Fandel Libby Fandel 5’11” | SF Cedar Rapids Xavier | 2025 State IA of CR-Xavier. Fandel is a long and skilled Shooting Guard that excels at scoring the basketball. It’s not the only thing that Fandel can do, as she is better then most her age in every facet of the game, but its definitely her best ability. We will see it first hand this winter at Xavier when Fandel is going to have to control most of the action happening of the floor. A team that will lose multiple starters from a year ago, will need to find a new offensive identity to start off this season. This coaching staff and program are good enough to make that happen but it is going to be interesting who else steps up until Madden Wilson returns from injury later on in the year. As for recruiting, Fandel has several Division-1 offers and that list is only going to grow over the next year. Where will she end up? I’m not sure but whoever gets her, is getting a player that will be able to produce at a college level efficiently. Something every college coach can appreciate.
The most sound and fundamental PG in this 2025 Class is Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5’10” | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA . Zediker, a future Creighton Bluejay, is the Point Guard that every coach would love to have on the floor. She is patient in her actions, she moves with intent on and off of the ball, she can score from all three levels at a high rate, she can create off of the dribble or catch at a high rate, and she is vocal on both sides of the floor. When you add all of these things together and mix them with some athleticism, you get a successful Division-1 Point Guard and that’s exactly what I think Zediker’s future holds for her. This winter her Dowling Catholic team is going to be good enough to bring home a State Title. If they mentally lock-in early on during the season and some young players step up to help Zediker, they will have a fair shot to beat anyone they matchup against but we will just have to wait and see.
At the #3 spot in this Update is a player that is also ranked inside the ESPNW Top 50 Nationally for this 2025 class and that is Journey Houston Journey Houston 5’11” | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA . Houston is a 5’11 CG/PF, that keeps it simple and takes what the defense gives her, leading to a lot of success for herself and her teams on the floor. Houston is someone that see’s opportunity and then takes advantage of it. She is powerful in every move she makes, while always noticing a mismatch whenever it presents itself. As of most recent, Houston has committed to her home state Iowa Hawkeyes to continue her basketball career at the collegiate level. Houston will join currently one of the best programs in the country, trying to make a mark of her own before things are said and done!

Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6’2″ | C Johnston | 2025 State IA is preparing for her most exciting high school season yet. Jenkins has recently transferred to the Powerhouse that is Johnston High School for her next two years and she could very well be the difference between the Dragons bringing home a State Championship or not. Jenkins is a dominate Center in the lane. She is an individual that plays with an elite mixture of size and speed. There aren’t many situations in which Jenkins gets beat defensively and she is always ready to score on the offensive side of the ball. Not to mention, that if a defender happens to cut her off and make her pivot, she usually does a great job of showing a second or third move in attempts to score the ball or create for an open teammate. Jenkins college offers, like everyone on this list, has been building at an alarming rate these past few months and I expect that to continue. This Johnston team is going to be fun to watch this winter, if you have a chance, I would take the time and stop on by.

A player that has taken the country by storm the last 6 months, is the same player that is going to be the new #1 in the 2025 Class out of the state of Iowa and that is Divine Bourrage Divine Bourrage 6’0″ | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA . Bourrage is a CG, that stands at around 6 FT tall. She displays a shifty handle with the ball on a string, a three level scoring ability, quickness moving any direction defensively, and a superior level of knowledge of the game compared to most her age. Bourrage’s recruitment has exploded this past AAU season. I want to say that this was obvious, that it was happening all along but in all honesty, Nike Nationals is the tournament that really put the spot light on Bourrage and she has proven herself to potential recruiters ever since. Currently, she is sitting at #9 on ESPNW Top 50 out of the 2025 Class with around 25+ HM/Power 5 offers. Scouts are coming to watch her train almost daily at this point in Davenport, Iowa and that speaks volumes as to how good of a player she really is. There is still a lot of work to be done but as of right now, Bourrage is in a great place moving forward.
