The five players that I have highlighted below are the Top 5 players out of the 2026 Class going into this winter. Each player listed has special talents and holds D1 offers/is D1 committed.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Coming in at the #5 spot in this article of our Top 5 players from the 2026 Class in Iowa is Nakia Ollivierre Nakia Ollivierre 5’9″ | PG Waterloo West | 2026 IA . Ollivierre is a Point Guard that has been spoken about several times over the past year for her dominance on the high school court as a Freshman. She is a guard that stands at around 5’10 with some major athleticism to go along with her elite guard skill-set. Ollivierre consistently demonstrates that she is knowledgeable about the game of basketball from a strategic stand-point, with the ability to make something out of nothing on both sides of the floor. As for her college future, Olliveierre is committed to compete at West Point Academy over her 4 years. I think she is a player that could come in and produce right away if she is put in the right position, depending on who else that program is bringing in during that season, recruiting wise. As for now though, Nakia will keep her head down and look to keep improving until her high school career comes to a close. She has recently transferred to Waterloo West High School this past summer, matching her up against a higher-level of competition moving forward. Something I can’t wait to see first hand in a few, short months.
Highlights
Macy Comito‘s stock keeps on rising as she gets old and that is obvious to see for anyone that is paying close attention. Comito is a 5’9 Point Guard that is showing me more and more, that she can do anything asked of her by her coaches. She can handle coming down the floor and control pace of the game, she can create off of the catch or dribble at a high rate, she can defend the other point guards that line up across from her efficiently, and her “feel” for the game is continuing to get better. When you add all of these things together, along with decent size and athleticism, you get a college level player and that is exactly what Comito is. She is going to be a future Division-1 Point Guard when her high school career comes to an end but she just hasn’t figured out where to as of yet. It’s early and there is still a lot of time as she is only a Sophomore but I wouldn’t be surprised if her recruitment continues to flourish over this next year or so. She is good enough to play at a lot of places across the country, she just needs to find the correct fit for herself.
Trishelle Miller Trishelle Miller 5’10” | CG Sioux City East | 2026 State IA has stayed steady in her positioning in the Top 5 of the 2026 Class Rankings ever since the start of her Freshman year last winter. That is not going to change in this Update but I am very curious as to where Miller will eventually end up and as to how this high school season is going to go for herself. A player that has an above average skill set, moves effortlessly with the ball in her hands coming down the floor. If you have the chance to watch Miller compete, you can tell her best ability is on offense when the ball is in her hands. She is usually too complete of a player for anyone to stay in front of defensively in a 1V1 matchup and if they do, Miller is crafty enough to be able to work around them for a bucket a majority of the time. It’s very obvious that Miller has a high-level skill set with the ball but how does that fair for herself going forward? Well as of right now, she is sitting with a handful of Division-1 offers. Over the next year or two that list will continue to grow but as for this high school season, she is locked in to have a year to remember. Something more than doable with the roster her team is returning this winter at Sioux City East but we will just have to wait and see.
Wherever Jayla Williams Jayla Williams 5’10” | CG Ankeny | 2026 State IA is going to play college basketball, she is going to produce at a high level. Williams is a lengthy and creative guard, that can play on or off of the ball at any given moment. Williams is one of those high end players that can always produce for her team. She doesn’t have to have the ball in her hands to do so and she can still make everyone better, that checks a big box when talking about a possible Mid-major opportunity compared to a High-major/Power 5 opportunity. Are you a player that is highly skilled AND makes everyone better around you? If so, you could be a slam dunk prospect, who is going to produce and I think that is exactly what Williams is. Coming into this Update, Williams has taken a few visits to Big 10 schools and gotten some offers. I’m not sure where she is going to end up when it’s all said and done but from everything I have seen, she checks off most of the boxes I have to be a productive Power-5, type college player.
I get asked a lot why Jenica Lewis Jenica Lewis 5’10” | PG Johnston | 2026 State IA is so good at basketball. What makes her good at it? Why is she so much better than most of the players around her? There is no simple answer for this other than preparation, dedication, and some favorable family genes. First off, Lewis is extremely athletic. She can get down the floor in the blink of an eye with her dribbling ability and she is always in control. Second, she is versatile. Like I mentioned above with Williams, Lewis doesn’t have to have the ball in her hands and she will still make everyone else better around her. Lastly, she is unselfish and always willing to do hard work for her teammates. She is never giving up on a play and is always one of the first on the ground of a loose ball. Not to mention that skill-wise, she is very well-rounded. She could do anything asked of her, in any moment, against some of the best defenders in the country. These are just a handful of the main things that make Lewis, what she is out there on the court, the #1 player out of the 2026 class in Iowa & a future Power-5 college basketball commit.
