Teams from Tennessee took on foes from both Alabama and Florida, and they didn’t disappoint. Not all Tennessee teams were victorious, but you better believe that come Day 2, all teams will be ready to battle it out. These teams represented the state here at PCB.

Lipscomb Academy
The Mustangs were victorious in their day 1 game vs. Bartram Trail winning 50-36. Blake Maple Blake Maple 5'8" | CG Lipscomb Academy | 2027 TN got the party going early, sinking in a 3 and then finishing at the rim. She was the second highest scorer with 11 points. Bella Shepherd Bella Shepherd 5'6" | SG Lipscomb-Academy | 2026 State TN continued to be impressive, leading the Lady Mustangs with 17 points. She was filling it up from the arc and slicing through the rim. She continues to be impressive every time she steps onto the floor. Maddyn Merritt was also on point, finishing in the mid-range and making timely passes. She was big in the transition game where she hit open teammates who finished. The Lady Mustangs are back in action and take on Brewtech High School in round 2 of the Marlins Classic.
Shelbyville Central
The Golden Eagles from Shlebyville were victorious, knocking off Brewtech HS 49-34 in the opening round down in PCB. The girls showed how tough they are, doing it the Golden Eagle way. Playing together, knocking down timely shots, doing the little things right led them to being victorious. Paige Blackburn got down to business and unleashed some nice shots from the arc that hit the bottom of the net. Shelbyville takes on Pickens County tomorrow in the semifinals.
Brentwood
The Lady Bruins from Brentwood held off Sand Rock High School 60-57. It was a tight back and forth match that saw the Lady Bruins finish on top. The Lady Bruins were without 3 of their 5 starters ( Anna Williams Anna Williams 6'2" | C Brentwood | 2026 State TN , Ava Jarrett Ava Jarrett 5'6" | PG Brentwood | 2026 State TN , and Ella De Young), however it was Ella Ryan Ella Ryan 5'10" | PG Brentwood | 2025 State TN and Paige Morris Paige Morris 5'6" | SG Brentwood | 2026 State TN leading the crew from Wilco. Ella was poised with the ball in her hands, picking her spots as she pleased. Paige hit some clutch shots down the stretch, creating space on the floor and making timely assists as well. Junior Olivia Castagna Olivia Castagna 5'9" | SG Brentwood | 2025 State TN was hot from the 3 point line. She was wheeling and dealing from the arc early, hitting the bottom of the net. The Lady Bruins take on Father Ryan tomorrow in a battle of Franklin Rd. type match up.
Father Ryan
The Lady Irish were defeated in their first game of the tournament. However, they showed promise and look to rebound. Guard Abby Larkin Abby Larkin 5'9" | SF Father Ryan | 2025 State TN was big for the Lady Irish, hitting shots and rebounding the basketball. Caroline Kieffaber Caroline Kieffaber 6'0" | PF Father Ryan | 2026 State TN and Izzy Gavigan were big on the boards. Izzy was impressive from the field, knocking mid-range shots. The Lady Irish will be solid in round two and will come out with a vengeance tomorrow against Brentwood.
Stone Memorial Adison Howard Adison Howard 5'8" | PG Stone Memorial | 2025 State TN led the charge as the Lady Panthers were defeated by Pickens High 68-53.. The junior guard had a stellar performance, hitting shots all over the floor. However, the Lady Panthers came up short in their contest. Tomorrow, they look to take Bartram High School.
