In this article,&nbsp; we look at some of the 2024 guards who meet the various needs that schools post about. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248291' first='Kennedy' last='Rosendahl'] has been balling out and even earned player of the week in St. Johns county. &nbsp; Colleges have posted needs that are similar to the following:&nbsp; Looking for a point guard who is 5'7 or taller who can play defense,&nbsp; distribute the ball, and shoot the three pointer.&nbsp; &nbsp; That is a description that fits Rosendahl. &nbsp; Rosendahl is one of the best three point shooters in the State of Florida. In the previous two seasons, Rosendahl has connected on 137 threes and is off to a sizzling start this season as well. The sharp shooting lefty knocked down 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds from the guard position in a victory last week. Rosendahl was also instrumental in a close victory over county rival Creekside.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='808696' first='Lesly' last='Gonzalez'] has been balling over the first 4 weeks and was lights out this past weekend.&nbsp; Some colleges have posted a recruitment need similar to the following: Looking for a point guard who can control the pace, run the offense, and shoot the three ball at a high percentage. Lesly Rivera fits the bill and had a great weekend and showcased her skillset. Through 5 games, the senior guard has averaged 14.6 points per game and has connected on 16 threes (45 percent). She turned some heads in the preseason and continues to do so. Her stellar play has warranted an offer that was extended earlier this week. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248287' first='Kiyana' last='Hunter'] had a solid week three and finished the week leading her team in steals, assists, and threes, and averaging 11 points,&nbsp; including a 14 point performance against Stanton.&nbsp; Looking for a point guard who plays good on ball defense, distributes the ball to open teammates, and can knock down the three or get to the rim. Hunter meets that description. She has reached double digits in three pointers. And is one of the top three point shooters in the District. Hunter is also one of the top stealers in the area, averaging more than 4 steals per game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='349375' first='Morgan' last='Gavazzi'] put in a nice performance with a  23 point performance and an 11 point performance last week.  Colleges have posted recruiting needs that say they are looking for a gritty point guard who runs the offense, sets up her teammates for open shots , and is clutch player who can shoot the three. Gavazzi is having a great season and recently had a 23 point explosion. She is that guard who meets the description. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='349325' first='Kennedy' last='Waymer'] is one of the most underrated point guards on the First Coast. College coaches are looking for an agressive scoring point guard who can get down hill, shoot the midrange and knock down the occasional three. Any post similar would match the skillset of this point guard. Waymer presently averages nearly 14 points per game and is active on the boards and in the&nbsp; assist department.&nbsp; She is a multi-sport, high IQ athlete who also excels in softball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='374464' first='Ansley' last='Hicks'] has also played well and is averaging over 13 points per contest.&nbsp; Looking for a guard who is athletic and can defend, get to the rim, and score the basketball. Hicks fits the bill and is a baller. She is one of the top athletes on the First Coast and excels in other sports as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='495957' first='Kayla' last='Massey'] has been balling this season and recently posted a 12 point game against Bishop Kenny, followed by a 16 point outburst against Mandarin. College scouts have posted the need for a solid point guard who can defend, get to the rim, and can score the basketball in a multitude of ways. Massey's game fits that description. Massey is a competitor who plays her best against elite competition. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='768516' first='Kourtney' last='Johnson'] has been special in this early part of the season and has shown a versatile game. College coaches looking for a versatile player who reaks havoc on defense, energizes her team, and can get to the rim and score: There are post that read similar to this one and Johnson is a guard who plays this exciting style of basketball. Johnson averages over 10 points per game and is a terror on the defensive end. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
