Sectional week has concluded, and now it's on to the Regional round. This is the second consecutive year where there is a single Regional game for each team, with next week's Semi-State requiring two wins in a day to make it to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. While brief, below is a look at the eight Regional games in Class 1A throughout the state. All statistics provided here have been pulled from each school's MaxPreps page, so if your stats are not represented here, your team's MaxPreps page has not been updated by your coach/school.

Matchup: Marquette Catholic (21-4) vs. Morgan Township (17-7), 7:00 p.m. ET

Preview: It seems like Marquette Catholic has been gearing up for this season and next, as they have a strong group of Juniors, plus a couple of talented youngsters mixed in with them. That Junior core consists of 6-0 [player_tooltip player_id='324083' first='Natalie' last='Robinson'] (7.5p, 6.2r, 1.7a, 2.8s), 6-0 Livia Balling (6.7p, 6.2r, 1.1a, 2.0s), plus guard [player_tooltip player_id='331799' first='Jiselle' last='Chabes'] (4.6p, 2.7r, 2.8a, 1.6s). Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='486528' first='Laniah' last='Davis'] (19.1p, 5.9r, 2.9a, 3.4s) is a dominant force at the Class 1A level, while Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='751101' first='Marissa' last='Pleasant'] (10.3p, 2.7r, 1.7a, 1.7s) has been a nice addition to the lineup this season. Morgan Township is a fairly veteran group, led by Senior [player_tooltip player_id='326478' first='Peyton' last='Honchar'] (12.6p, 7.1r, 1.2a, 2.2s, 1.1b). She is strong but skilled, and she can play on the block or effectively around the perimeter. Junior twins Madi Lemmons (9.9p, 6.4r, 2.7a, 1.9s) and Josie Lemmons (9.8p, 2.3r, 1.2a, 1.9s) are in their third year starting and offer major experience to the Cherokees. This game will likely come down to depth. Marquette can get major contributions from their starting five plus others, while Morgan Township is pretty much limited to three or four girls who can have standout games. Our Pick: Marquette Catholic, 48-37.

Matchup: Bethany Christian (18-6) vs. Caston (21-3), 7:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Bethany Christian made a tremendous run to the State Finals a season ago, but this year, the path could be a bit more complicated. Caston has spent much of the last three seasons at or near the top of the Class 1A polls. With their top contributors being Seniors, they are looking to pile up the postseason accomplishments this time around. Bethany Christian relies heavily on the Senior backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id='338899' first='Zoe' last='Willems'] (20.6p, 9.5r, 4.5a, 4.7s) and [player_tooltip player_id='326492' first='Mariah' last='Stoltzfus'] (11.5p, 3.5r, 4.2a, 4.0s in 13 games), and maybe now more than ever. Stoltzfus returned from a shortened season in time for the Sectional and gives them a huge boost. Junior Karlee Crume (6.4p, 3.8r, 1.7s) is the Bruins' next best option for offense this season. Caston looks to Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='239357' first='Isabel' last='Scales'] (15.5p, 8.7r, 3.6a, 4.2s) and [player_tooltip player_id='874149' first='Addison' last='Zimpleman'] (14.1p, 5.6r, 1.8a, 2.9s) to lead the way for a team with five total Seniors. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='890801' first='Madisyn' last='Douglass'] (9.5p, 2.4r, 2.8a, 3.9s) has been a pleasant addition this season for the Comets and should have many more strong games in front of her. Both teams have two top-flight stars in the lineup, so this game should come down to how the supporting casts play. Our Pick: Caston, 40-34.

Matchup: Daleville (9-13) vs. Union City (13-12), 1:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Daleville is rather young but still managed to win a somewhat weak 4-team Sectional. Senior Isabelle Williams (12.8p, 6.5r, 1.3a, 2.1s) is pretty much all of their veteran experience, while Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1256446' first='Addisyn' last='Gothrup'] (13.0p, 2.2r, 1.1a, 2.0s) is turning into a star for the Broncos. From there, it's Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='751106' first='Modlene' last='Campbell'] (5.2p, 3.5r, 1.0a, 1.0s) and [player_tooltip player_id='751114' first='Olivia' last='Pratcher'] (5.1p, 4.7r, 1.9a, 2.2s) who provide the depth for Daleville. Union City played extremely well last week, knocking off a couple of perennial powers along the way. Foreign exchange student Luane Schoonbroodt (17.5p, 10.0r, 3.0a, 4.6s) has been an unexpected boost for the Indians this season, as she can play at all three levels and is always productive. Senior Camryn Fischer (9.8p, 5.5r) has had a nice Senior season, while Junior [player_tooltip player_id='570378' first='Oaklee' last='Reichard'] (8.5p, 4.2r, 2.0a in 6 games) returned from injury late in the year. I would expect Daleville to return to this round in a year or two, but this could be the end of the road for them this season. Our Pick: Union City, 44-36.

Matchup: Northfield (12-12) vs. Clinton Central (23-1), 1:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Northfield is back in the Regional round for the first time since 2021, but they have the misfortune of running into a Clinton Central team having an incredible year. Northfield is still capable and has an experience starting group that includes two Seniors and two Juniors. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='572800' first='Hannah' last='Holmes'] (14.1p, 11.0r) and Eden Hoover (8.3p, 4.5r, 1.2a, 1.7s), plus Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1122656' first='Elli' last='Baker'] (13.0p, 5.5r, 1.0a, 1.0s) are the standouts this season for the Norse. The Bulldogs go about six deep most of the time, but all six can step up when needed. Key amongst them is Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='455946' first='Sara' last='Parkison'] (17.6p, 6.5r, 2.1a, 2.1s), a physical presence around the basket, skilled facing the basket, and plays with an outstanding motor. Fellow Senior Erika Robbins (11.3p, 2.5r, 2.0a, 1.6s) is another hard-working player who does a little of everything skillfully around the perimeter. Sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='486527' first='Carly' last='Davison'] (12.5p, 4.9r, 8.4a, 2.7s) has been outstanding in her second season at the helm, and she is ultimately what makes them go. This could be a battle for a while but look for Clinton Central to pull away eventually. Our Pick: Clinton Central, 51-34.

Matchup: Jac-Cen-Del (20-5) vs. Eminence (19-7), 7:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Jac-Cen-Del has been a highly successful Class 1A program over the years, so their appearance here is no surprise. Eminence has a talented group of upperclassmen right now, and they are trying to make the most of it. JCD looks to the trio of Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='572809' first='Julia' last='Meyer'] (14.6p, 8.2r, 2.2a, 1.4s) and [player_tooltip player_id='625088' first='Reagan' last='Hughes'] (12.1p, 2.8r, 1.5a, 2.0s), plus Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1122667' first='Kelsey' last='Borgman'] (9.9p, 3.7r, 2.3a, 1.6s) to lead the way, but they are deep and have others who can step up in the bright lights as well. The Eels of Eminence have a nice mixture of talent, with 6-1 Junior [player_tooltip player_id='570384' first='Sophia' last='Saucerman'] (14.8p, 6.1r, 1.4a, 1.3s) being the biggest problem of all because of her skill and mobility at her height. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='825876' first='Natalie' last='Hubbard'] (12.3p, 6.7r, 2.5a, 3.0s), Bella Dittemore (8.5p, 2.0r, 1.7a, 2.2s), and Danica Myers (8.0p, 5.2r, 5.0a, 2.8s) hope to cash in on their last ride, and I think they are capable of making this a much closer contest than is otherwise expected. Our Pick: Jac-Cen-Del, 48-39.

Matchup: North Central-Farmersburg (17-10) vs. Bethesda Christian (18-5), 7:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Over the last few years, the North Central Thunderbirds have led or been near the top of the state in 3-pointers made and attempted per game. This year is no different, as they are averaging more than 23 attempts per game from outside. They can get hot quick and put teams away, or struggle for stretches and have to fight back. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='366798' first='Jalyn' last='Davidson'] (17.6p, 3.3r, 6.2a, 3.4s) and [player_tooltip player_id='1122822' first='Shelby' last='Seay'] (12.8p, 4.4r, 4.3a, 3.7s) team up with Senior Kimber Ladson (7.6p, 2.1r) and Junior Samantha Secrest (6.7p, 5.3r, 1.5a, 2.0s) to form a lethal group of starters. Bethesda Christian has a standout of their own in Senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='177322' first='Kenzie' last='Fulks'] (19.8p, 3.6r, 5.3a, 4.2s). She is a dynamic scoring threat, but she can also make plays for others. This year they have proven to be more than just Fulks, as Senior forward Sydney Goodin (12.3p, 6.1r, 2.3a, 1.8s) and 6-1 Senior post Jayla Ferguson (8.7p, 7.4r, 1.4a, 1.2b) offer the Patriots nice balance throughout their lineup. Our Pick: Bethesda Christian, 47-46 in overtime.

Matchup: Barr-Reeve (13-12) vs. Lanesville (25-1), 4:00 p.m. ET

Preview: Barr-Reeve played well and surprised in the Sectional, and they do a lot with playing their tempo and controlling the ball. They'll need a lot of that as they take on the defending Class 1A State Champions. Lanesville did graduate a couple of key pieces, but they are incredibly deep and loaded for a Class 1A program. Barr-Reece will need to get a huge game out of Junior front-liner [player_tooltip player_id='366796' first='Hannah' last='Bledsoe'] (10.6p, 8.7r, 2.6b) if they are to advance, but she might not even be enough. Senior Willow Thompson (6.4p, 3.3r, 2.4a, 2.0s) and others will need to step up and have big games as well. Lanesville can hit you from a number of different angles, but it typically starts with the play of Junior [player_tooltip player_id='295760' first='Hadley' last='Crosier'] (14.9p, 4.8r, 4.3a, 4.2s). She is one of the most balanced guards in all of Class 1A. Senior Ava Kerr (10.5p, 5.0r, 2.6a, 2.7s), Junior [player_tooltip player_id='880516' first='Shelby' last='Allen'] (11.1p, 6.4r, 1.0a), and Junior [player_tooltip player_id='324067' first='Hylton' last='Brumley'] (9.1p, 3.0r, 2.1a, 1.8s) bring back significant experience from last year's top team. Our Pick: Lanesville, 49-31.

Matchup: Trinity Lutheran (14-11) vs. Wood Memorial (15-10), 1:00 p.m. ET

Preview: As Trinity Lutheran again finds their way through a Sectional, they look to continue that strong play in the Regional. They do it with a little different leadership than a season ago, too. Now, the combination of Junior Madison Keith (15.3p, 12.0r, 2.8s), Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='751103' first='Marley' last='Warren'] (14.1p, 4.6r, 2.0a, 1.4s), Senior [player_tooltip player_id='326481' first='Liza' last='Froedge'] (12.3p, 4.3r, 1.2a, 1.6s), and Junior Jordan Brewer (8.9p, 2.7r, 1.8a, 1.7s) form a group who is tough to predict where the points are going to come from each game. Wood Memorial is a lesser-known from Southwest Indiana who always has solid to strong seasons year after year. They tend to win with depth, skill, and hard work, and this season is no different. The Trojans have several Sophomores and Freshmen spread throughout their roster making contributions this year, but Senior Josie Page and Junior Kate Sevier act as the veteran leaders. Our Pick: Wood Memorial, 51-47.
