James continued her terrific season for Rossview last night, as she led the Lady Hawks to a district tournament win, and a seat at the district championship game table. Torri James Torri James 5’11” | PF Rossview | 2024 State TN scored 12, Ellie Hankemeier added 10, and the Lady Hawks move to 19-9, and they have won 5 of 6 heading into Monday’s championship.
Clarksville (26-0) beat Kirkwood to advance to the district championship game vs Rossview. Moore gave Clarksville 16 points, and Imari Berry Imari Berry 5’10” | SG Clarksville | 2024 State TN led all scorers with 20 (in very limited minutes). Clarksville has yet to be beaten, and I look forward to watching them continue to be tested as the pressure rises. Malon Smith Malon Smith 5’6″ | CG Clarksville | 2025 State TN added 12 points as well.
Channing Jones, the Kirwood star freshman, finished with 7 points.
Brandimore had 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to beat a good Independence team three times in a row, as Independence defeated Franklin 52-47. Brandimore and Franklin had a really nice season, but unfortunately, ran into Indpendence on the wrong day.
Brentwood had a big win over Summitt (73-39) to advance to Saturday’s championship game. The Brentwood secondary scorers have been playing really well of late: Olivia Castagna Olivia Castagna 5’9″ | SG Brentwood | 2025 State TN had 15, Paige Morris Paige Morris 5’6″ | SG Brentwood | 2026 State TN had 12, and Ella Ryan Ella Ryan 5’10” | PG Brentwood | 2025 State TN had an easy 27. When Castagna and Morris combine for 27 points, and Ryan is giving you another 27….they just become too tough to beat.
Quinn Johnston, Summitt’s best player, scored 10.

Meigs (20-8) erased a late fourth quarter deficit to come back and defeat Kingston. Meigs now advances for the priveledge (gulp) of playing McMinn Central in the championship game on Monday. The freshman, Taylor McHone, led the way with 17 points, including 8 in the 4th quarter comeback.
Braxton Fritz, the 4 year Kingston standout, finished with 14 points.
Burdette, a ’24, fought to keep Collierville’s season alive on Thursday night, as they beat Houston (63-46). Burdette had herself a night! The senior was 8-10 from three, and finished with a career high 34 points. They will face Bartlett in Monday’s championship game.
Highlights
Gracie Arnold Gracie Arnold 5’5″ | PG Sale Creek | 2026 State TN led Sale Creek to a district tournament win over Lookout Valley on Thursday night. Arnold led Sale Creek with 18 points, and 3 made threes, as they look to make noise in 1A.
The CCS combo of ’27 Aubriyana Camp Aubriyana Camp 5’7″ | SG Chattanooga Christian School | 2027 TN and ’28 MoMo Moore was too much for Baylor, as CCS won 60-48. Moore led all scorers with 19. Camp had 14. And Jaydah Rainey Jaydah Rainey 5’9″ | PF Chattanooga Christian | 2025 State TN added 12. CCS hit 7 total threes: Moore hit 4 and Camp hit 2. These kids are reallllllly good.
Stewarts Creek beat La Vergne big to advance to play Lebanon on Friday night. Stewarts Creek is crazy scary with two D1 players in Camden Ward Camden Ward 6’0″ | PF Stewart’s Creek | 2025 State TN , Jayda Bernard Jayda Bernard 6’1″ | C Stewart’s Creek | 2025 State TN , and a group of role players that are really playing well (Layla Wilder, and seniors Ashley and Autumn Crick Autumn Crick 5’6″ | SG Stewart’s Creek | 2024 State TN ). Wilder in particular has been shooting it well, and led all scorers with 12 points in very limited minutes.
Wilson Central beat Smyrna (60-42) on Thursday. The impressive ’27 post Brylee Fly Brylee Fly 5’11” | SF Wilson Central | 2027 TN had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Alli McCullough had 12. ’27 Kylie Moss Kylie Moss 5’5″ | PG Wilson Central | 2027 TN added 10. ’27 Eliana Ramsey Eliana Ramsey 5’10” | SG Wilson Central | 2027 TN also added 6.
Nice win to keep their season alive (and you have to like how the young Wilson Central kids responded to atmosphere of the playoffs).
Highlights
Buford led Clay County’s win over Clarkrange (45-37), as she finished with 22 points. Buford turned on the jets in the 3rd quarter in which she scored 9. Kady Hopkins Kady Hopkins 5’10” | SG Clarkrange | 2025 State TN led Clarkrange with 17.
This sets up a Clay versus Pickett district championship game….which I know that kids from Clay were hoping for.
