TKA vs CAK: Game Report

Christian Academy of Knoxville!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>You have heard about both of these teams. I was in attendance at TKA when TKA won the home game. CAK later took down TKA at their gym. Now, this game was at a neutral site. Who would knock down more shots? Who would play better defense? Who would win in the rebound column? These are all great questions to ask. Here are a few of those answers. [player_tooltip player_id='408998' first='Brady' last='Branam'] owned the glass. Branam finished the game with double digit rebounds again! Branam was also named the District-CO MVP! Both of these young teams are outstanding on the defensive side. CAK may have forced more turnovers in this outing! Some of these athletes hold offers to play at the next level because they are truly relentless on the defensive side. I LOVE watching both of these teams. Both teams are well coached. Both teams have NEXT LEVEL athletes. Both teams play TOGETHER! Remember these names, you will want to recruit from both of these young squads, trust me!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='583370' first='Skylar' last='Walden'] finished with 3 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. The young freshman impacts the game in more ways than scoring. Forget the scoring column in this game, Walden is still one of the best basketball players that you are going to find in our state! Walden was named All District and All District Tournament team!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='838339' first='Emily' last='Atchley'] finished with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Atchley drilled back to back 3's and let's mention how her confidence was key! I'll reiterate that Atchley has an extremely high ceiling! Congrats to Atchley for being named on the All-District Team! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='620459' first='Olivia' last='Loveday'] continues to do Liv type things. She led her team in scoring with 8 points! She also pulled in 5 rebounds! Loveday was also named to the All-District Team!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='900251' first='Kyle' last='Young'] hit a beautiful 3 to keep her team close. She finished the game with 5 points and 2 assists. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now, let's go to the District Champions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What a performance by the champs! The defense was stellar! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='290962' first='Izzy' last='Proffitt'] scored the first 5 points for CAK and she did not slow down! When you look for an athlete with a non-stop motor, you find that in Proffitt. I'll reiterate that Anderson is getting a great one! Proffitt's senior leadership is imperative for this young CAK team! Congrats to Izzy for being named the Co-District MVP and joining the All-District Tournament team!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='519799' first='Colie' last='Thompson'] was a part of the all tournament team and the all district team. She may not have scored 20 points like she did against Lakeway, but she was great where her team needed her! She played great defense throughout the entire tournament! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What more can be said about the Tournament MVP [player_tooltip player_id='821765' first='Maddie' last='Braden']? I stated, "Some college coaches may not have a clue what they need in 4 years. It doesn't matter. Recruit [player_tooltip player_id='821765' first='Maddie' last='Braden']." I'll stand on that for years because this young star is amazing on the basketball court! Braden followed up her 26 point and 12 rebound outing against Lakeway with another over 20 point game! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So many impactful players can be mentioned- [player_tooltip player_id='890174' first='Karlie' last='Whited'], [player_tooltip player_id='890282' first='Lillian' last='Sims'], and the list goes on! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congrats to ALL of the players that were honored to the All-District Teams and the All-District Tournament Teams!
