Bonner is an exceptional basketball player who can do it all. She is skilled at scoring the ball at all three levels, has excellent ball handling abilities, and her court vision is exceptional. Additionally, she has a keen sense of where the ball is and is a prolific rebounder, despite playing in a guard position. Her leadership has helped her young team achieve an impressive 14-4 record, with a perfect 10-0 record in conference play.
Pelletier started out the season on the JV squad, but was quickly pulled up to help her varsity team. On a team full of guards, she was needed for some rim protection and post defense. She’s not afraid to pull down a rebound and take it coast to coast, showcasing her ball-handling skills. She spends a lot of time in the post, but can stretch the floor and knock down the three.
Maurer is having to play a much bigger role this year on her very young Ithaca squad. She can shoot the rock and has handled whatever the defense is throwing at her this year. She moves well without the ball, and I’ve seen her court vision improving as the season has gone on.
Highlights
Lauinger is part of a talented Goodrich team which is still undefeated, and she is finding ways to stand out. Her great court vision and excellent passing skills are something to see. She is also getting things done on the defensive end of the court. With such impressive skills, she has a bright future ahead of her, and I am looking forward to watching her play for the next four years.
Ainsworth has been on a mission this season, and that mission is to improve with each game played! The Point Guard has been a driving force for a competitive Wayland team. She fearlessly attacks the rim and has been making shots with great accuracy. Her on-ball defense is causing problems for opposing teams. Wayland’s future looks promising as Marissa will be leading the team for the next four years.
