When evaluating any type of player on the court, there are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration. One of the most important factors being their position and how they are set up for success within their own offense. Someone can be a fantastic prospect but if they aren’t set up for success, they are going to look bad whether that’s the truth or not. A player that suffered from this situation toward the end of the season was Greta Dillinger Greta Dillinger 5’10” | SG North Polk | 2025 State IA . Dillinger is a quick thinking SG, with great size and athleticsm. She is the type of prospect that you want to shoot the ball first when she is open, while thinking about it after the fact. When she has confidence, she is one of the best SG throughout the State in the 2025 Class and that’s obvious. For the most part, Dillinger put together a season to remember. Whenever she had an opportunity to make something happen, she did that without forcing any mistakes or making too many errors. As it pertains to individuals that can shoot the leather off of the ball and prospects that know their role, Dillinger checks off both of those boxes. I’m not sure where she is going to end up when it’s all said and done but she is a collegiate level prospect, plain and simple. If she is set up in a system where she can play her natural position and let it fly whenever open. she is going to find a lot of success. No matter who it’s with in the near future.

Breckyn Schilling Breckyn Schilling 5’11” | SF North Mahaska | 2025 State IA is another prospect out of the State of Iowa that has some real promise on the hardwood and I think that during this AAU season, that’s going to be on full display for everyone to watch first hand. Schilling has size, athletism, and the ability to produce on both sides of the floor almost every possession. On her high school team, she is their engine. They go wherever she goes and that’s a fact. Whenever her North Mashaka team did well this past Winter, Schilling had an impressive game. Whenever they struggled, it was usually because she was having an off night or she was being triple teamed. This AAU season Schilling is going to join up with the powerhouse that is the All Iowa Attack program. If she can make the most out of her opportunities over these next few months, she is going to be a hot commodity throughout the state. She is already sitting with a D2 offer, along with a ton of D1 interest. As long as she takes care of business, she is going to shine this Spring on several different levels. There is no doubt about that.

When considering and speaking about some of the most complete PG’s in this 2025 Class, the name Morgan Miller Morgan Miller 5’9″ | PG Iowa City Regina | 2025 State IA comes to mind from Regina Catholic out of Iowa city. Miller is the definition of a leader and a solid competitor. More often than not, she is her Regal’s team heart and soul. If you watch any of this programs contest from the past few seasons, Miller is the one that everything runs through. Doesn’t matter if it’s a set in their offense for a specific look or if it’s just Miller creating something out of nothing. When this team is moving at full speed and making things happen, it’s usually because Miller has a big part to do with it. My biggest take away from watching her compete as of late is that she can either lead her team’s offense while scoring the ball at a high rate OR she can lead everyone by facilitating and creating. In today’s game, it’s important to be able to do both. High-end colleges want a PG who can score at Will when they need it the most but for a majority of the time, they want someone who can set up and create more than anything. Which makes sense because that is the definition of a Point Guard that knows what they are doing. After coming off of a solid Winter season, Miller will lace up once again with the All Iowa Attack for another Spring. I’m not sure who has reached out to her from a collegiate standpoint yet but whoever gets her, is getting a steal out of this State. She is very good and she comes from a family that is full of ballers. When you add those two things together, you usually see a lot of success on the hardwood.
Lauren Walker Lauren Walker 5’9″ | PG Central DeWitt | 2025 State IA of Central Dewitt isn’t the prospects that is going to blow you away with crazy moves or flashy takes but instead with fundamentals and simple play throughout a contest. Walker keeps it simple and uses whatever advantage her opponent will let her. If they are giving up a certain lane toward the hoop, she will take it. If they are looking to force her to go toward one certain side on the floor, she will do that and create something out of nothing. If her defender sags off of her and lets her step up to shoot, she is going to step up and knock it down with ease. Some of the best and more prepared Guards out there, ready for the next level, take what the defense gives them and they just make the most of their opportunities. That’s the definition of Walker and her play-style. She still has some ways to go but I truly believe that even at this point, Walker could help out a collegiate program in some facet today! So if she were to continue to expand her game over the next year or so, you better watch out because who knows where she could take things.

The combination of length and skill that Leah Weaver Leah Weaver 5’11” | SG West Fork | 2025 State IA from West Fork High School has is pretty impressive. So much so that I think she could join up with some collegiate programs right now and make a difference almost right away. Weaver stands at around 5’10 with some long arms and active feet while moving up and down the floor. More times then not, she is making a big play for her team in some sort of way, whether that be because she is scoring the ball at a high rate or rebounding the ball at a consistent pace on either side of the floor. Whenever it comes to Shooting Guards and their production, there are other questions that come into play. Questions like is she being set up for success within her teams offense? Is she just in charge of shooting the ball or does she have to move between the 1, 2, and 3? Stuff like that. In this case, Weaver has always done a great job of making her presence known on the court for whatever she is doing. In the end, I’m excited to see what the future holds for Weaver. She is someone that I think this going to thrive in the correct environment. If she continues to work hard and the others around her continue to feed her when she is feeling it, she is going to have a memorable Senior year, looking toward the future.
