We will start things off below by breaking down our Top 5 ranking players and what their futures may hold on the hardwood.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Trishelle Miller Trishelle Miller 5’10” | CG Sioux City East | 2026 State IA is coming off of a high school season in which she was sick/injured for a small portion of but she is ready to lock in and make some big things happen on the AAU scene over these next few months with her ETG Midwest Elite 3SSB team. Miller is a shifty guard, with a quick handle and an act for making something out of nothing. Defensively, she plays with a chip on her shoulder and doesn’t settle for bad possession. No matter what that might mean. Up until this point in the recruiting process, she has already had interest from multiple collegiate recruiters, which is impressive in itself. If she continues to stay healthy and work hard, she going to get plenty of more looks this Spring season but as for now, she takes our #5 spot in this Top 5.
The CCA Clippers just came off of a high school season to remember. The Clips put together one of the most impressive seasons we have seen over the past few years at the high school level. They won their Class 4A Championship in dominating fashion and basically walked into the title game because of their dominate performances in the contests prior. One of the main contributors all winter long is Averie Lower Averie Lower 5’11” | SG Clear Creek Amana | 2026 State IA . Lower is a 6’0 SG, who I commonly refer to as the best shoot in the entire state, no matter of age level. If you want to talk about a shooter that has balance, a quick trigger, a picture perfect release, knowledge of situations, and the ability to knock down shots in clutch time then look no further, Lower is that player. She does all of this while rebounding hard and even dribbling up the ball to break the opposing team’s full-court pressure at times. This 2026 Class has some bright stars on the hardwood and Lower is definitely one of them.
Highlights
The progression over the past few seasons from Macy Comito Macy Comito 5’10” | PG Carlisle | 2026 State IA on the court has been impressive and I think that will continue into this Spring with her All Iowa Attack EYBL team. Comito is a PG with a good head on her shoulders and some real skill. She is quick and determined in her movements, while always being composed no matter the situation. She has a nasty handle with the ball, that can get her to any spot she wants to on the offensive end. Defensively, she is a trouble maker. She gets a lot of tips/deflections leading to transition buckets for herself or her team. Not to mention, she leads by example. She doesn’t make many mistakes and she is always leaving it all on the floor. At the end of the day, Comito is going to be a Power-5 prospect. If she continues to keep getting better, the sky is the limit. I wouldn’t be shocked if this Spring she saw a bunch of interest from recruiters at the next level. She is going to standout on her own EYBL team and that speaks volumes.
This is the summer for Jayla Williams Jayla Williams 5’10” | CG Ankeny | 2026 State IA . Ever since she was a Freshman, she has demonstrated the potential to be high end college player, depending on her situation and what might unfold there. William’s play-style would be described as athletic and physical but with some finesse. She knows the best route to attack her opponents, while being smart enough to know when she should rotate the ball around the perimeter. If she ever has a mismatch on her, she is smart enough to take that player down to the post and beat them in the paint. All in all, the easiest way to put Willaims game is that she has the “it” factor. She just makes things happen. Doesn’t matter if that’s because of her playmaking ability on offensive or defense. Whenever she is in a big moment and has the ball, you know something is going to happen, usually favoring her side of things. Like I said above, this is a big summer for Williams as it comes to recruiting but I think she has set herself up for success in her new program so I’m sure it’s all going to workout for the best.
We are coming up to a point where Jenica Lewis Jenica Lewis 5’10” | PG Johnston | 2026 State IA is going to be narrowing down her college list and where she might want to attend but before that, she still has a big Spring/Summer planned ahead with her All Iowa Attack EYBL team. If you’ve been paying attention, you know that Lewis can do it all. She is a PG who can score, facilitate, or defend. She rebounds hard and is very tough to stop once she gets going down hill in the open court. Lewis has been a hot commodity for a few years now out of Iowa. She has 35+ D1 offers and I expect that list to grow over the next 6 months. What Lewis can do on the court, you don’t see every day and when you do see it, you know it’s special. She showed up all season long this winter for her Johnston Dragons team, helping them to an undefeated season and a State Championship. I hope she can keep that momentum moving forward into her new AAU program these next couple of months but we will just wait and see. That’s a 17U team with the best roster in the entire country now. If anyone wants to produce, they are going to have to REALLY show out.
