In this Final Four game for Northfield, Alena Vondracek Alena Vondracek 5’7″ | SG Northfield | 2025 State CO was that gem. Alena didn’t see the court in the first half of the game but managed to come in the 3rd quarter and change the game. After coming in while the team was down double digits, she knocked down two 3’s turning the monument around, and allowing Northfield to go into the 4th with the lead. While the 4th quarter was still a battle Northfield trailed 3 with 28 seconds left in the game but no need to worry because Alena was there to knock down the clutch 3 to take the game into overtime where Northfield was able to pull away with a win.rn
Highlights
The guard play of Northfield is strong enough to where you never know who is going to come out and have a great night offensively. During the game against Air Academy today, Aliyah Herron Aliyah Herron 5’8″ | PG Northfield | 2025 State CO , was locked in and ready to play. She ended the game with a team-high 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Aliyah’s 22 points was a season-high, and her team needed every one of them. She was able to knock down a couple of early 3’s giving her the confidence she needed to keep attacking. With the team following her lead Northfield put pressure on the defense cause multiple girls from the opposing team to foul out.

Air Academy’s run ended at the Final Four with a loss to Northfield at the Coliseum in overtime. They had an all-around effort from their starting five, but Ramah Khammash was huge to the team success early on. After scoring the first 4 points of the game she had drawn an extra defender opening the floor for her teammates to get more involved offensively. Ramah then pivoted to securing rebounds for her team. She ended the game with 14 of them total which was half of the total they had as a team.
Once again, the Roosevelt Raiders are on their way to the championship game, after beating a solid Mead team 47-40, they will play a hungry Northfield team Saturday morning. During the game, Kyla Hollier Kyla Hollier 6’2″ | SF Roosevelt | 2026 State CO shined bright as she usually does, leading Roosevelt in points and rebounds. Her skillset makes her one of the hardest players to guard on the court as she is able to play inside and out and that limits how many defenders you can throw at her. Even with Mead deciding to send two girls one of them always ended up being smaller so she was still able to find a way to finish over them.rn
As the season ended for Mead in the Final Four it’s a great time to reflect on how far they’ve come as a team since the start of the season. After dropping two games in February, they’ve been focused and able to win 4 straight games to get here. Gianna Wurth Gianna Wurth 5’9″ | SF Mead | 2024 State CO is a player has been in some big moments in some of those games, including the Final Four game today. She picked up the scoring load for her team while they struggled to get looks at the basket when they needed them most. Gianna’s shooting stretched out the defense and allowed other guards to get to the rim. Aside from having a great day shooting the ball, she was a huge factor on the defensive end of the floor forcing girls into picking up the ball in transition.
