was a player who rose this year for Episcopal. She is an athletic and strong guard who does well as a driver. She is a tremendous rebounder, averaging 9.3 of them with her 13.2 PPG.

was great for them. She was second in scoring, and her ability to play multiple positions is important for this Potomac School team. She is a good defender and a solid spot-up shooter. Catherine has great size and skill, and after being hurt for a lot of last year, she stayed healthy this year for the most part and had a good year.

had a fantastic year for Virginia Academy. She can score the ball from all over the court and is a great athlete. She is terrific defensively and led Virginia Academy to a State Championship. Leah finished first-team all-state.

is one of the best players in the state for her class. I only have her as an honorable mention because of her injuries this year and the otherworldly talent at her position in NOVA. Riley took an offensive step forward this year and made the second team in the WCAC.
Theresa Hagans Theresa Hagans 5’9″ | PG Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA was a sleep-on piece for a Bishop Ireton team that competed with some of the best teams in the country. Theresa is a fantastic ball handler and a high-IQ player. She is shifty and a tremendous passer. Theresa steadied this Ireton team, and with all their talent, she tied it all together.
Highlights
At my other Guard position, I have Raigan McCalla. Flint Hill had a tough year, but Raigan’s performance was outstanding. Raigan has a high IQ and is a skilled offensive player. She was the first-team all-state and first team in the ISL. She eclipsed her 1,000th point and is one of the best guards in NOVA.
Amirah Anderson Amirah Anderson 5’10” | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA is a player who can affect the game as a scorer without demanding the ball. She is a great spot-up shooter and has a tremendous mid-range game. Amirah was first-team all-WCAC and first-team all-state. She is just another great talent on this loaded Bishop Ireton team.
Highlights
As mentioned, Bishop Ireton’s talent is up there with almost anyone. Nyla Brooks Nyla Brooks 6’2″ | SF Bishop Ireton | 2025 State VA is the best of the bunch. She is one of the best players in the country for 2025 and led Ireton in scoring at 19.8. Nyla is supremely talented and my pick for the best player in NOVA.
At Center, I have Eva Robertson Eva Robertson 6’3″ | PF Bishop O’Connell | 2025 State VA . Eva transferred from West Springfield to Bishop O’Connell this year, and she had a nice year for a young O’Connell team. Eva is a great rebounder and shot blocker. She has great hands and can finish with either hand. O’Connell struggled in conference, but this team will get better and be one to watch next year.
