We dive into our Elite 8 of the 1A State Tournament bracket. Two games were great, two were blowouts, and we are looking at a LOADED final four field on Friday with the games continue.

Greenville (22-10) 55

North Greene (26-10) 49

This was a nip and tuck game from start to finish. Greenville won the first half 33-30. Same song, different verse in the 2nd half as they won the 3rd 11-10 and the 4th 11-9. Greeneville continues their unexpected tourney run with a huge win over North Greene.

Greeneville shot 53% from the field, 33% form three, and 19-28 from the FT line. North Greene shot 47% from the field, 38% from three, but only 3-9 from the FT line. (Again....a 28-9 FT disparity is something).

Haley Bailey had 18 points, 10 rebound, and 2 steals on 8-15 from the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='892984' first='Hannah' last='Miller'] had 11 points, 5 rebound, 3 blocks, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Loren Blevins had 8. Ella Head had 6 points and 3 rebounds. Kaydence Marshall had 6 points as well.

Moore County (25-8) 58

Clay County (22-10)

Clay County just wasn't enough for the perennially tough Moore County squad. In a game that ended up going into overtime, it was as close as could be the entire way through. After one quarter it was tied at 15, at the half it was Clay 28-Moore 27. The game was back and forth through the 2nd half and eventually Moore did enough to pull out the hard fought win.

Moore shot 50 from the floor, 25% from 3, and 14-21 from the FT line. Clay shot 49%, 39% from 3, and were 8-9 from the FT line.

For Clay, it was Halle Bufurd leading the way with 18 points, 2 made threes, and 3 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='1097652' first='Laci' last='Wix'] had a wonderful 3 point, 7 assists game. Madison Hayes had 11 on 5-5 shooting. [player_tooltip player_id='290950' first='Bella' last='Ashlock'] had 13 points. Ella Eads had 6.

For Moore County, Katie Fletcher was great. She had 21 points on 6-9 from the floor, and 3-6 from 3. Elle Graham had 17 points on 7-10 shooting, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals. [player_tooltip player_id='1095985' first='Madison' last='Dingler'] had 15 points on 5-10 shooting.

Moore County will now face Greenville on Friday.

Pickett Co (26-2) 54

Cloudland (28-1) 31

Pickett dismantled a 28-1 ball club, and only makes me think more and more they are destined for a '24 1A state crown. This game was 12-9 after 1 quarter of play, but Pickett stretched it out to a 34-19 lead at the half. Pickett shot 55% from the field only only TOOK three 3s. Cloudland was held to 26% shooting, 20% from three.

[player_tooltip player_id='409090' first='Emmy' last='Lowe'] had another tremendous game with 23 points on 9-15 shooting. [player_tooltip player_id='409093' first='Callie' last='Reeder'] had 5 and 4. [player_tooltip player_id='514124' first='Zoey' last='Nicholas'] had 13 points and 6 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='405858' first='Allie' last='Amonett'] had 6. Ella Keisling had 4.

For Cloudland, Makinna Shell had 13 points on 5-10 shooting. Ryan Turbyfill had 6 points.

Wayne County (31-3) 61

South Fulton (22-9) 40

This one was all Wayne County, and their Miss Basketball POY [player_tooltip player_id='409014' first='Blair' last='Baugus'] who had 24 points and 15 boards on 12-18 shooting. She added 3 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='810507' first='Emma' last='Bryant'] added 8 points. Jacqueline Keaton finished with 11. [player_tooltip player_id='804751' first='Kenzie' last='Griggs'] had 7 on 3-6 shooting. Just a dominant performance for Wayne as they look ahead to Friday's matchup with Pickett.

For South Fulton, Anna Gore paced them with 18 points on 6-14 shooting. Abbi McFarland had 8. [player_tooltip player_id='810625' first='Maddie' last='Gray'] had 6, and Aubree Gore had 5 points, 4 rebounds.

We dive into our Elite 8 of the 1A State Tournament bracket. Two games were great, two were blowouts, and we are looking at a LOADED final four field on Friday with the games continue.
