Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
When you sit down to watch Malcolm High School compete, you see two prospects that really stand out and one of those is Guard, McKenna Powell McKenna Powell 5’10” | SG Malcolm | 2026 State NE . Powell is a lengthy SG, who can knock down a number of different shots from deep. She is someone that displays experience and veteran leadership everyone time she takes the floor, even though she is only going into her Junior season of high school ball within this next year. Powell is going to continue to be a constant for this program over her next two years. She is a college level talent and that isn’t going to change anytime soon.
Highlights
Macy Wolf Macy Wolf 5’9″ | SG Arlington | 2026 State NE is the starting Shooting Guard for her Arlington Eagles High School team and a pretty good one at that. Whenever you hear about this squad, it’s usually about their PG because of her ability to score and create for those around her but someone else that shines in this process is Wolf. She displays that she can always knock down three pointers, no matter the given circumstances. She can catch and let it go or she can pull up off the dribble. It doesn’t matter, as long as she has adequate space, it’s always going to have a chance of going in. I do think that Wolf is a college level talent at the end of the day but her Division will depend on how she expands her game these next few years. If she can become a little more efficient, while expanding her game simultaneously, she is going to kill it in her future.
Katelyn Walker Katelyn Walker 5’8″ | SG Morrill | 2026 State NE of Morrill High School is an interesting talent on the hardwood, that could string together another great two years on the Varsity floor. On a team that is filled with Guard prospects, Walker is someone that is some what versatile. She has shown that she is quick moving down the floor in transition, while always being calm and in control, no matter the given situation. She is very good at coming to two feet and playing off of that whenever the opportunity presents itself. This Morrill team has shown me some promise. They have a few players that can really get going, who we will be highlighting over these next few weeks. If they can continue to work, they are going to walking into the 2024-2025 season ready to roll.
When it comes to Lucy Fierro Lucy Fierro 5’4″ | PG Westview | 2026 NE , she may be one of the smaller prospects would have this 2026 Class but her game speaks volumes. Fierro would be considered a mix between a PG and a SG at this time. She is pretty solid with the ball in her hands coming down the floor but she is also solid playing off of the wing, whenever she can. She has a fantastic shooting and scoring ability, usually putting up big numbers in those departments each time she takes the floor. Defensively, she is a menace. Somone that will pick up her opponent in the full court after a made bucket, without her coach asking her too. She is very good at watching her matchup’s hips and pushing them into doing something that they may be uncomfortable with. I’ll be around to see Fierro compete this AAU season and I can’t wait. She is someone that plays with a lot of heart. If she continues to do that, she will find a college home before everything is said and done.
A prospect that is an unquestionable leader for whatever team she is playing with is Aubrey Russell Aubrey Russell 5’7″ | PG Winside | 2026 NE of Winside High School. Russell embodies what it means to be a leader in every term of the phrase. She leads by example, she has a voice that she isn’t afraid to use, and she always knows how to get the best out of her fellow teammates. Not to mention, she has some skill to follow along with all of that. I’m not too sure if she has any contact with recruiters from the next level but I’m sure she will before long. She is someone that a program would want to bring in because of her character alone, not to mention her skill. If she can continue to get better over time and keep up that leadership, she is going to be just fine in the long run.
