In a state as passionate about women's basketball as Tennessee is, one can expect the level of competition for the sport to be among the best in the country. This is not only the case at the college level, but at the high school level as well and – by proxy – the travel realm.

One of the state's premier girls AAU organizations is [program_tooltip program_id='712985' first='TN' last='Flight Trotters']. The group fields several AAU teams – one of which is a the [program_tooltip program_id='712985' first='TN' last='Flight Trotters'] 2027 Armes team. As of this writing, the team has competed at the AAU State Qualifier in Lafolette and a Johnson University event in Knoxville.

Following that invite, the Apache Memorial will be next for the team. Here is an overview of the team's roster.

Maddie Rogers – [program_tooltip program_id='712985' first='TN' last='Flight Trotters'] not only brings in kids from its home state, but also the neighboring state of North Carolina as well. Rogers is one of those Hoop State representatives and recently was part of a Cherokee Braves team that won a 1A state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='822427' first='Hayden' last='Carter'] – Carter experienced plenty of winning basketball to commence her high school career. In 2023-24, 3A Cocke County concluded a historic campaign with a 29-9 record – and a berth in the state semifinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='822277' first='Lexi' last='Tipton'] – Tipton saw playing time in 30 games as a freshman for 3A Carter. She brings plenty of versatility to any team as she has the ability to give productive minutes as either a three or four forward or as a two guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='821709' first='Lilly' last='Woodruff'] – In addition to thriving as part of 2A Sweetwater, Woodruff's athletic plate is certainly a full one. She also plays varsity softball and volleyball to compliment her basketball accomplishments and previously played club ball for Sweetwater Storm. Woodruff averaged a double-double of 16.7 points and 11.5 rebounds plus 1.4 steals as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='821829' first='Brylee' last='Flatt'] – Flatt also competes in volleyball at 2A Alcoa alongside what she gets accomplished on the basketball court. She has the ability to play at either the three or the four in the frontcourt or in the backcourt as a shooting guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='816717' first='Jacy' last='Cox'] – As denoted by both Cox and Flatt, the Tornadoes are well-represented on this version of [program_tooltip program_id='712985' first='TN' last='Flight Trotters'] 2027 Armes. Cox is returning for her second year with the AAU team and thrives as a defender and 3-point shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='811495' first='Laney' last='Copeland'] – When one sees playing time on 34 occasions as a freshman, she must be doing something right. That was the case for Copeland in 2023-24 as she was part of a Cleveland team that finished with a 24-10 record and a berth in the Division I 4A state semifinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='822332' first='Ally' last='Everett'] – Everett is a two-sport athlete who is also a middle hitter for the varsity volleyball team at 4A William Blount. Her 5-foot-8 stature is complimented by the length she brings. She primarily plays at the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='755832' first='Peyton' last='Wood'] – Wood is the sole representative on the team from 4A Jefferson County and has already built up a high profile as one of the premier young players in Tennessee. The rising combo guard stands at 5-foot-10.

[program_tooltip program_id='712985' first='TN' last='Flight Trotters'] 2027 Armes Schedule

April 5-7: AAU State Qualifer – Lafolette, TN

April 12-14: Johnson University Tournament – Knoxville, TN

April 19-21: Apache Memorial – Knoxville, TN

May 10-12: TN AAU State Tournament – Knoxville, TN

May 17-19: Live at Lakepoint – Emerson, GA

July 11-16: Run 4 The Roses – Louisville, KY

July 20-22: Summer Slam – Atlanta, GA

In a state as passionate about women's basketball as Tennessee is, one can expect the level of competition for the sport to be among the best in the country. This is not only the case at the college level, but at the high school level as well and – by proxy – the travel realm.
